Our trip is 4 months away. We'd like a portable DVD player for the car but the budget is tight. Any suggestions???

Got a decent one at Walmart for around $175. It was an off brand, but it's work good for 2 years.

Target or one of the big electronic superplaces are selling a 5" for $119.
I was all set to buy and then bought a notebook computer off EBAY for $200. I had to pay shipping and $50 adapter for the DVD (it was CDROM instead)...but now I can play DVDs, CDs and get online...The downside it that it is heavier but if you're traveling by car, that shouldn't be so much of a problem.

I just a few days ago bought one from Walmart for $278, for us it was perfect because it has 2 screens instead of 1. Both screens can play the movie, or my son can use 1 for his video games while the other plays the movie. Versatility, lol

I recall seeing a thread earlier today about a "free" DVD player from a website that was something like viking.com - you had to buy $25 worth of stuff, and I think the original poster mentioned that it was an office supply place, similar to Staples or Office Depot.

Sorry, that's all I can recall.
