Okay....so I know you guys should be able to help (and I x-posted this in community as well).

The camp I work at has them day every friday. This week is pirates and princess. I don't really have the money to go and buy much (I want to try and keep it to about $15 at the most). I also don't have a lot of time to do anything. I was planning on figuring this out this past weekend but I spent all weekend in urgent care/ER. I have work all day and then I am doing school make-up stuff for this past school year for medical reasons. I am blank on what would be cheap and easy to do for dress-up for friday. We HAVE to dress up.

So if anyone has any inexpensive easy ideas, I would LOVE to hear anything and everything!

For pirates: White shirt, long flowing skirt or dark pants. Cut the pants ragged at the bottom. Add a scarf or piece of fabric for a sash at the waist. Big earrings, lots of flashy, big jewelry & heavy eye makeup. Boots if it's not too hot. Or if it's too hot, go with sandals. Not really authentic, but cool! ;)

For princesses: Old prom or bridesmaid dress. With jewelry & makeup. Get a plastic tiara at the dollar store or Walmart.

I would try to use some old clothes and if that's not possible go to a thrift store. And Dollar Store for accessories if you need them. They have piratey (is that a word?) guns & knives or swords. Sometimes they also have pirate hats or pirate dress up kits including eye patch. They're kids size but hey, they'll work. And they're cheap! And the kids will love you for wearing it.

Goodwill or the Salvation Army should have stuff for you. Our local Goodwill is the cheaper of the two because they use a flat pricing rate and Salvation Army prices each item separately.

If you have friends who have been bridesmaids they might be happy to give you a dress. I've been costuming for children's/community theater for years. The joke among my friends is when they tell me I'll be able to use the dress again, it's really true.
