Hi. We are going to see my grandpa in TN the day after Christmas, and at the end of our trip we will spend 3 days at a mountain cabin in Gatlinburg. I'm looking for some easy to pack/set up/take down and inexpensive ideas for decorating both places. I know my grandpa won't have his decorations up, I don't think he's done that since my grandma went intot he nursing home... I can't possibly live without some Christmas cheer for that week! I gotta have me a tree to put up, so any ideas you may have would be great. Thanks!

A wreath for the door, make a red and green link chain with your son to go around the inside of the cabin, a platter of Christmas cookies and eggnog, a Christmas tree-you can get a small fake one that already has the lights and decorations on, Christmas music, and stockings.

You might be amazed at the cute things you can find at your local Dollar Store. We have several in our area, although only one of them has really great looking decorations. We bought lots of 4th of July decorations there.

That is exactly what I'm looking for- do you know much about them (where to find, how much they run, etc...)? I would like a 3-4 foot tree so we can put a couple of gifts under it, and don't have very much to spend on it.

The dollar stores are already on my list, thanks Parkhopper!

They have smaller trees at Wal-Mart or K-Mart, but QVC also had cute smaller artifical trees, so you might want to check on their site.

Giving a little bump in hope of finding some more help. I know there's lots of you who do this, so maybe you will be able to tell me where to find things and what to expect for costs. (I don't mean to imply that the previous answers haven't been helpful either, because they have!)
