This will be my daughters first trip to Disneyworld to celebrate her 5th birthday. I have made all the dining reservations. Purchased the Mickey's not so Scary Halloween tickets, made appointment at the BBB Boutique at the castle, got things together to decorate the room. Will get her birthday button when we arrive. Have little surprises from the characters I will leave in the room for her to find each night when we return. Will mail some cards and leave some cards in room from the characters, I have been collecting character birthday cards and will have the characters that are on the front of the cards sign them. With a little help from mom that is. I am also having a t-shirt made for her so everyone will know it's her birthday. Have ordered the cake, And let any and all know at Disney it is her birthday. Will also do it again when we arrive.

My question is does anyone have any other advise for Disneyworld birthdays?
Or little things that they have done to make the day special. Please keep in mind that I am on a very tight budget. So special cruises and things of this nature are to expensive for me at this time.

Thanks
Nicole's mom

We are doing the same thing for my DD's birthday. I was concerned about doing more for her, but DH said "we are takin' the kid to DISNEY for her birthday, what more could she possibly want??!!!"

We ordered a basket from http://www.peggyssweetsandmore.com to be waiting in our room upon arrival. We themed it to be a birthday surprise from Minnie Mouse. Peggy makes her baskets as simple or as elaborate as your budget allows.

I think your plan is perfect. :thumbsup2 Enjoy your trip.

BTW, we are having a regular birthday party with cake and presents before we go.

Your plan sounds great! We just got back from celebrating DD's 5th bday as well 2 weeks ago, and had an awesome awesome time! Here are some of the things we did, from tips collected from these boards and friends.

Make sure all dining reservations are noted for her bday. Some will sing, get a free cupcake, some even give bday cards signed by the characters (we did breakfast at crystal palace and norway)

When you check in request a character bday call (free) - goofy called and sang happy bday, and being one of her favorites I cannot put into words the expression on her face!

Also when you check in ask if they do a bday car/balloons for her bday. The CM asked me who her favorite was, and at that moment it was Cinderella - so the next day someone came to the door with a bday card/picture signed by Cindi and had 2 princess (latex) balloons. Again, priceless (and free ;) )

Tinkerbell came and left her a present every night while she was sleeping (also helped her to take a shower, as tinkerbell only likes to go into little girls rooms that smell good :rolleyes1 ) she sprinked some pixie dust throughtout - from the door to the gift and around her bed!
The second night (we got in way too late on the first night) Tinkerbell ;) also decorated the room with birthday stuff. I had brought down her bday decorations (princess banner, latex balloons - don't forget scotch tape, princess cut-outs, and I planned to put them up - but tinkerbell surprised even mommy and daddy by doing it ;)

The night before her actual bday - tink put up a surprise Pirate bday banner (who doesn't love Cap Jack  ) and left her a special bday present.

We went to Claires before we left and for $3.50 they had a "bday girl" sash, that she wore during the trip with the button.

We also had a few gifts for her for the actual bday (all disney, purchased at the disney store, on sale, before we left)

Hope you and your little princess have a blast!!!

These are great idea's. Keep them coming. I will definitly be using them.
You guys are soo soooo GREAT!!!!!!!

I didn't know about the birthday phone call! :worship: :cake:

I just LOVE the DIS boards! Thanks for the info!

I read somewhere that when your daughter has her BBB appt., she will get a "birthday girl" sash instead of the regular BBB sash. princess: Make sure the FGiT knows it's her birthday!

Thanks I didn't know about the birthday sash at BBB Boutique, I will check it out. Keep them idea's comming!!!

I think you've got a lot planned & your DD will have a fantastic, one-of-a-kind birthday!!

If you're interested in pins.....they do sell a few different types of "Happy B-day" pins at the parks & resorts.

Did you have it noted on your ADRs that it's your DD's b-day?
They will probably serve her a special cupcake & maybe a card (I know all this because we just spent 10 days in WDW over my DD's b-day.
I also had a cake ordered on her actual b-day).

In MouseGear (in Epcot), they sell a Happy B-day Mickey plush & I think it plays the Happy b-day song.
MouseGear is the only place I've ever seen it.
I looked & looked, but they did not have a Minnie one.

**Also, at places like Chef Mickey's...if they know it's your DD's b-day, they will put a Happy b-day image (Mickey with a b-day cake) on the picture. I noticed it when they brought out my picture package to me....really CUTE!!! It happened to us at several of the TS restaurants that do picture packages.

NicolesMom:

I was just going through my box of "stuff" for our upcoming trip. I forgot that I had purchased a beaded bracelet to give to DD at her BBB appt. It's a special gift, especially for her from Mommy.

I bought it on EBAY, but I can't remember who the seller was. I know it was a woman who makes the bracelets as her business. It's well-made. Nicer than a "play" bracelet. There were several sizes to choose from-they were specifically made for a child-size wrist. I can't remember exactly how much it was, but I know it was inexpensive--somewhere around $4-$6.

I have no idea how expensive it is, but Disney is opening a new birthday party room at Goofy's Candy Kitchen at DTD starting September 12th.
