My parents are taking 14 of us to Disney in March. We would like to surprise them with a few gifts while we are there. We thought of doing something special (little things) every night while we are there with the grandkids giving it to them. Any ideas? Has anyone ever done a scavenger hunt? Any ideas would be super. Thanks

For my parents 50th wedding anniv 20 of us went to WDW. Here are two of the things we did:

1. At Chef Mickey's, the server had Mickey and Minnie come up to my parents to present them with a gift. Mickey actually got down on his knees and handed my mom a ring box. Inside was a ring with 15 diamonds---one for each grandchild. As a surprise for us, the server brought souvenier champagne glasses and champagne for my parents!

2. We were meeting at an offsite restaurant for a group dinner. All 18 of us showed up in matching t-shirts we had designed with Bob/Shirley, Mom/Dad, Grandma/PopPop 50th Anniversay on the front chest and a family tree listing each "branch" of the family on the back. It took them about 10 minutes to notice we all looked identical, then we gave them theirs and they went in the bathroom to change!

3. We also each took one morning and took Mom and Dad to breakfast just with our individual family. Our choice was 1900 Park Faire for brunch. The characters went nuts when they found out it was my parents 50th!

HTH!

Well, I'll tell you what we did. We took our parents to Disney World. They had never been before. We paid for the room, airline tickets, and park tickets. They paid for food and extras. Since it was a once in a lifetime trip for the, we did a bunch of "extras" for them beforehand. Most of us gave them things for Christmas. One of them was making a certificate up for a carriage ride at Port Orleans. Another was a round of miniature golf and a ride on the surrey bikes. We also did little treats like an ice-cream sandwich and a beaver tail. We also paid for one of their character meals, maybe two. We also did IllumiNations Cruise. We paid for all of that stuff and had it be special treats.

I think those are some great ideas. You could actualy come up with your own little coupons sort of thing for the grand kids to give them. They could say something like this is for a free ice cream to the carriage ride like suggested before. or just simple things like you get to move to the front of the group while waiting in line. that would come in handy if everyone is together for a particular ride. Or something like you get to sit in front while watching a parade just little things like that that show you are thinking about them.

Just to add to what I did. For the Surrey Bikes I actually found a picture of people riding them and I made a brochure, and I put a "coupon" on the inside. The brochure said what and where the surrey bikes were. For the ice-cream sandwhich, I got a little cheesy. I took cotton balls and brown construction paper and made the coupon out of that. I tried to "research" each gift we were giving them.
