My DD is bringing her 13 yr. old friend on our trip. The problem is that she is an upper level gymnast who just qualified for an important meet and now needs to fly by herself a few days after us and will meet us at BCV. We are taking the Magical express. However, we are not comfortable having her find her way to the Magical Express alone and are planning to meet her at the airport. We do not really want to rent a car and don't think one or more of us can go on the Magical Express to get her at the airport. Are there any less expensive options for getting to and from the airport rather than renting a car or taking a taxi such as a shuttle bus from one of the other hotels? Thanks for your help!

I think a one-day auto rental would be your best bet. Alamo has a rental office at the Dolphin Hotel and there is also a Car Care center with rentals over near the MK (they will pick you up at your resort). Renting a car would likely be less costly than taking a cab or other public transportation. With your own rental you could also make a grocery stop for your villa.

My husband had to leave Disney mid-trip for a business meeting, and he was allowed to take the Magical Express bus back from the airport. He didn't need to use ME to get to the airport, as we had rented a car for a few days, and he planned on dropping the rental off at the airport when he went to get his flight. Disney was more than gracious in allowing him to take ME back to OKW, where we were staying. I can't imagine that they wouldn't have let him take ME to the airport had he needed to. Good luck!:)

You can do ME one way... But it's not likely they'll let them take ME to pick someone up at the airport.

Thanks for the info. about the rental cars at the Dolphin. It sounds like that may be a good option for us.

I believe it's National Car Rental that rents either from the Dolphin or the Car Care Center. We've rented from them before - done pick up and drop off at the Dolphin - and had good experiences.
(Last time was just about a year ago - I don't think the company has changed but I could be wrong.)
Have a great trip!

Everyone is entitled to ONE round trip ME transportation. So your husband simply used his return trip, even though it was earlier than yours.
This is not what OP is trying to do. Whoever would be going to the airport to pick up the guest, would actually be using TWO round trips, and this isn't allowed.
Good Luck

I have rented from both Alamo and National at the Dolphin, very easy and one day should be under 50. Look on Mousesavers.com for codes to plug in. then you will have a car for 1 day if you want any food or eat off property...

The Car Care Center at the entrance to the MK offers both National and Alamo. So you can choose. I have used both National and Alamo and find that Alamo offers more discounts (AAA, Costco, etc) than National (only DVC)...
Good luck and have a great time!!!
