HELP!!
I need ideas on something special to do for my daughter on her day of graduation. We had talked about a limo picking her up on her last day at the begining of the yr but now she informs me she wants to ride the BUS!!
She is 11yrs old and graduating from 5th grade. She has worked her little buns off these past few yrs since we found out she is dyslexic. She is now on grade level reading and 7.6 grade level math! I just want to reward her some way with something special to show her how proud we are of her but I have no clue what to do.
Any ideas large or small please tell me!

Thanks,
Sharon

I remeber when I was that age and the reward would of been a barbie doll. Remeber tose days, at 11 I think we all played with dolls like that still. Now 11, Hmmmmm, I have no clue for an 11 yr old girl. Just throwing out this idea maybe a day of beauty, hair cut and done up, a manicure and pedicure then a nice dinner out after a little shopping and a few new pairs of clothes. Let us know what you are going to do and congratulations to your daughter for her hard work during the school yr.:D

Flowers & a stuffed bear/balloons. Let her choose a special place for dinner.

I liked the manicure, etc. idea if she's into that. If so, I'm sure she would love a shopping trip with some new clothes/jewelry.

Congrats to her! It sounds like she's a hard worker.

At that age, they don't want to stand out from their friends so thats why she didn't want the limo. Maybe a girls day with you and a friend would be a good idea. Lunch and a movie or a beauty day. Kids are really embarrassed easily at this age, so kinda take her lead. I learned this first hand...LOL

Congratulations to your daughter. :)

Can you ask her what she would like?

I think a party with her other friends would be a good idea. Especially if they are going to be losing track of each other.

How about one of those vermont teddy bears from the Vermont teddy bear company? They have all kinds of special occasion bears.

herc.

Thanks for all the great ideas. I would love to give her a day of manicure, pedicure etc but she nibbles her nails down so they couldn't do a manicure I don't think.
What is a Vermont Bear?
I had thought about ordering Pizza for her class for lunch the last day but I need to check and see if there party is last day or next to last day. Would hate to interfere with that.
Again thanks!!

She has worked very hard in Elementry school and we are very proud of her progress! :)

Here is the link for Vermont Teddy Bear.

I actually ordered a Teddy Bear from there when my daughter started kindergarten. Their arms and legs move. There are several types of bears to choose from.

Personally, I would keep the celebration a family thing - away from the school. That way she can participate in the school celebration with all the kids and then have a special celebration that is just for her.
