We will be at Disney World for 5 days at the end of January. Part of the reason for the trip is that we are celebrating the fact that my 13 year old son, an actor, got a part on an episode of 30 Rock and his episode will be airing a week after our vacation.

So, we will be celebrating this on our trip to WDW.

I have a few ideas such as: mentioning it in the reservation, getting a personalized t-shirt made for him, and decorating the window in our POP room to congratulate his hard work.

I'm on a budget, so I have to be mindful of expenses and plan ahead.

But you guys are creative and knowledgeable, so I thought I would turn to you to help me figure out how to make this memorable for him (even on a budget).

Also, can someone point me in a direction for getting at least one personalized tshirt made to celebrate this? I was thinking a Jiminy Cricket/When you Wish Upon a Star theme.

Thanks in advance!

not exactly budget friendly but there is a place at DTD where you can make design shirts.
of course there are the " I'm celebrating" pins you can get at check in. Borrow their marker and write what you want on it.
Idk what network 30 rock plays on but is it a Disney Affilitate? HS (MGM) might have a 30 rock memorbilia ( spell that right?) that you could work into something....

Oh thanks for the good advice. I looked into the DTD place and it looks do-able.

Unfortunately, 30Rock doesn't play on a Disney affilitate ..but Disney is a great place to celebrate anything!!!! LOL.

I really appreciate you taking the time to share your ideas. I love the TV shirt idea. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

This is REALLY not budget friendly, but...........

Just beside the Rose and Crown patio is a small viewing area called "UK PUBSIDE". It is a small private area for viewing the fireworks. Last year I booked that area with a small desert buffet for my MIL's birthday, and it was fabulous! It was truly special and something that none of us will ever forget. This is a VIP area that is not listed on the private dining rental areas in the brochures that you get from Disney Special Events. I would be happy to put you in touch with the Cast Member who set this up for me, just PM me for the info. It does require a payment for the location and a minimum food purchase. But when I say VIP, I mean VIP. There was a cast member at the entrance to the private walkway to let us in to the venue and the CM who booked it for us actually came down to the venue prior to the fireworks to say Happy Birthday. It was amazing.

I found out about the venue here on the Disboards and called Private Dining to make reservations. The CM "Rick" emailed me all available options and this venue was not listed. I called him and asked for the venue by name, to which he replied, "Oh, how do you know about that space?" When I told him "the Disboards", he laughed and said that the space was rented to VIP's of the company and to celebrities and was not publicized in any Disney print. He checked to see if he could get it for our night and we did! We were talking to the CM staffing our space and we asked her if that was for real. She said "Let's put it this way, last night's guest in this space was Gary Sinise." :lmao: We felt like superstars!
