We just pulled the carpet up out of our bedroom and installed Pergo flooring. LOVING IT!!!

Now here's my problem. This is the room that I iron in (usually a couple times a week) I will set my ironing board up and do my ironing while I'm watching TV. I guess I've never noticed before but on the ends of the "stands" on the ironing board there are no rubber caps. You know what I'm talking about? There is just a metal edge at the ends and I'm afraid of them scratching up the floor.

When I was at Walmart the other day I looked in the aisle that has all the ironing stuff to see if they sell replacement caps but I didn't see any. But when I got home, I saw my hubby using those felt pads to put under our bureau and decided to use those on my ironing board until I found some rubber caps or something that would prevent it from scratching the floor. The thing is, thos felt pads are adhering too well and keep falling off.

So, aside from buying a whole new ironing board, do you have any suggestions on what I could use on the ends to protect my floor?

I'd look in the hardware store for rubber caps that go on the end of canes, etc. There are different sizes and would cover up the metal ends.

You can cut and X in tennis balls and stick them over the metal ends, at least until you find the rubber caps.

I had the same problem and just wrapped the ends in duct tape. I didn't have any trouble making it even and it was cheap and easy.

As for the rubber caps, we needed them for our bed frame and I found them in many different sizes at Home Depot and Menards.

You could also get something to place under the ironing board, like those pads used to keep area rugs from slipping.

Like a yoga mat!

Old socks

Koozies!

A new ironing board (drop a hint to the family!)

A ghetto fix would be wrap the ends in duct tape, several layers. :D The yoga mat would work, too, cause it's kinda grippy and won;t slide around. Or, do you happen to have any of that cabinet/shelf liner stuff that's grippy?

Now see this is why I love the Dis-I was have the same problem, so moved to the kitchen with tile but I cant see the TV. thanks all

This is what I would do.
