Hey gang,

Thought I'd post this to my friends on here -- as some of you know we are heading to WDW in June 11 for a few reasons: Star Wars Weekends, Gay Days to show our support :thumbsup2 , using our points before they expire :lmao: and of course to celebrate my hubby's 40th.

We are doing a split stay BLT for the last and longest portion of our trip and probably BWV; though we have been toying with the idea of BCV solely for the pool!

I think my main problem is that I am overwhelmed as to what to do for a special night/day as there are so many options to do! Do I arrange one big thing or do I get a bunch of smaller things planned?

He doesn't drink and bars/dance clubs aren't his thing anymore. I had thought of the Richard Petty Experience as he loves driving fast/speed stuff but he hates NASCAR --he's more of a WRC (Rally) fan; rather than driving in circles. I had thought of a dolphin swim at Discovery Cove but that's my dream not his :lmao:. As of now we won't have a car to leave Disney property but that could change... however there's so much we can do on WDW soil so I don't think we really need to leave.

JSG I promise to not tape anything on my villa door; staples or crazy glue will be my method of affixing 'Happy 40th Birthday' :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Anyways any and all suggestions/ideas would be appreciated! :confused3:idea::hug:

You may not deface the villa door no matter what you use to affix the decorations. ;) I have heard you may deface the INSIDE of the door, so as long as you aren't staying at AKL/V feel free to do that! :rotfl2:

Special things. Hmm. We have done:
A fireworks cruise, a fishing charter, lunch with an Imagineer, behind the scenes tours, LOTS of signature dinners, custom birthday cakes, La Nouba. You can order something from the Disney Florist, but be advised those things are difficult to alter if you don't like the included items. I went round and round trying to customize a basket for DS.

We've never done the Richard Petty thing but I have heard it's pretty nifty.

Yup, what JSG said...

Also, AOL Travel page has a thing on tours available at Disney...

I'd post the link, but not sure if it's allowed.

Good luck

I'll book a room next to yours.... have a motion sensor devise at the door that belts out beloved songs like "It's a Small World" each time the door opens. :rolleyes1

How about parasailing or a Segway tour? Parasailing is right at the Contemporary and you can do Segways either at EPCOT or Fort Wilderness. We did the EPCOT tour early in the morning before anything was opened ... it's pretty cool to tool around the World Showcase while it's empty.

I have always wanted to parasail! We just haven't gotten around to it.

DS is too young to do Segways, but that's another thing we would like to do in a couple of years. Of course he not only has to be old enough, he has to be HEAVY enough, so it may be more than a couple of years. ;)

Segway tour may be a good idea!

LOl I'd rather parasail in a location that the water below doesn't frighten me ;)

Maybe I'll do something on the TOWL at BLT -- a nice cake or something :cool1: if we can get our friends from Miami to join us for a couple days there. He has warned me to not make a big deal of his bday but I want to do something....

For my 35th birthday last year we had a nice quiet dinner at Narcoossee's and watched EWP and Wishes. Overall, the trip was the best part and spending quiet time alone together that one evening was really nice. Most of the signature restaurants would have fit this goal.

So the other day I caught hubby doing research on the Petty Driving Experience -- Never did I think he'd be caught dead researching anything to do with NASCAR. No offence to those who like the races but time and time again he's made it clear he finds it to be dull and boring and he'd never go to an event even though he's a mechanic and is into vehicles... so i questioned him on it and he just said "But I can drive really fast" so I think I may look into buying him a package there for his 40th.

Funny how the thing you'd never think one would want they find interest in... Go figure! :confused3:confused3:lmao::lmao:

That sounds like a good idea!! I think doing the Petty experience is a bit different than going to a race. Watching the cars go round and round all day can be boring. But riding or driving IN the car takes it to a different level!! I could see it as something anyone into cars would enjoy, they don't have to be into NASCAR.

Perhaps I can get a massage while he drives ;) ;) I am liking this idea more and more! :lmao::littleangel:
