Help, I need some inexpensive gift ideas from Walt Disney World for my grandson to bring home to his Kindergarden class mates in September. We are taking him out of school for one week and thought it would be nice for him to bring some type of souvenirs for the students. Since there will be 25 students, we need something fairly reasonable. Any help would be appreciated.

I am not sure if there is anything left, but you may want to check the disney stores. They are clearing out their merchandise to make room for new stuff and things were marked down very low. I specifically remember a section of things like toy cell phones, playing cards, etc that were all $1.99. We too are going down in Sept and I picked up a few things for souvenirs. I figured that the people we give these to wont know that we didnt buy them at Disney.

If you are looking for something from Disney world that is even cheaper, a good idea may be some snack items. For example, they sell pretzels in the shape of Mickey's head that are very inexpensive.

Thanks for mentioning this idea. We are also taking our daughter out of school for a week to go in Sept, so maybe we will pick up some small things for her classmates.

The food courts let us buy Mickey Straws for .25 each. When CM's offered stickers to DS, he asked for enough for his class, they were always happy to oblige. We also bought chocolate coins with Disney characters on the wrappers. We saved up our small size shopping bags (and asked for a few extra) and made up small goodie bags for the kids with them. We also put in some park maps in foreign languages-the kids loved them!

I have always brought back something for my youngest dd's class
when we travel during the school year.here are a few things we have done:

at check in they will give your child a little mickey coloring book, i go back later in the day and nicley explain i would love to share these with dd's class they have always given me 20 or more no problem.

At the stores if a cm gives my dd a sticker i nicley ask if we could please have some for her class,i do this a few times during the trip.

most resorts have post cards with there logo again just ask
while staying at the poly concierge they were nice enough to give us leis for the class

the candy store on main street sells mickey choclate coins i buy a few bags of them for the class

some restaurants have color changing straws again i just ask

I always buy a few packs of pencils and one of those big goofy ones for the teacher.

when we gather everything i put them in the small size mickey bags and tie with ribbon.

I always ask very nicley never bother any cm's when they are busy and thank them for the kindness they have shown. The kids in my dd's class are always excited when she returns from vacation.By the way we dont do this to show off we do it because we enjoy collecting the items to make her friends smile!!
good luck.

When I need to bring back a little something for a lot of people, I opt for Mickey lollipops. I think a bundle of five or six is a few bucks. They are a good size and come in assorted colors and flavors. These are always a big hit with adults and kids. You can find them in most of the gift shops, definitely in the Confectionary on Main Street.

We did the straws from the foodcourt and Mickey stickers for my ds's first grade class last year. The kids really seemed to love them. A good idea is to put them in business sized envelopes and have the teacher pass them out at the end of the day so nobody is fighting over colors.... I know my son's teacher really appreciated that!

Not to put a damper on this thread, and perhaps you have already checked, but at our school they do not want you bringing back gifts for the class. (Has to do with others being unable to take vacations for many reasons, economic, family situation, and military service). I think a post card to the class would be great.

If the school does allow gifts I liked the straws, stickers and lollipop ideas, or even pressed pennies. This is so thoughtfull of you....I'm sure the kids will love a little treat:p

What nice ideas you all have posted here. This past year when we went to Disney we brought back a big bag of the Mickey pretzels. The pretzels were shaped like Mickey. The teacher and my daughter handed some out to each child in the class. These were only I think $3 for a big bag and the teacher sent the rest of the pretzels home. For my younger daughter's class we bought a box of chocolate mickey coins wrapped in foil wrap. They were in a netting with about 10 inside each package I think for about $2. The year before we bought WDW pencils. They were in packages of 8 or 10 for I think $3 per package (or maybe less). We bought these at the ASM gift shop. The kids loved these too. Good luck in whatever you decide.

You could get the Chip and Dale character cookies which come in animal cracker like boxes. They costed less then a dollar. Buy several of them, and have the teacher just put them in a bowl and have everyone take some.

You could also do stickers.

I'd stick to pencils, straws, stickers, etc. instead of food items. You never know which kids have food allergies and they wouldn't be able to eat the treats and thus be left out. I'm very aware of this---my 6 year old nephew has major food allergies.

You could always ask the teacher if there are any major food allergies. We have done the big bag of pretzels for the class snack. I also brought back stickers for the teacher to use on papers for the students. They were appreciated.

Thank you, thank you for all the wonderful ideas. I think we will ask my grandson's teacher if there is a problem with him bringing back any souvenirs. I really liked the stickers, straws and pencil ideas and I personally love the pretzels and always bring some home for me. Again, thank you for all the kind responses; I knew I could count on you all.

Here's one more suggestion I did a couple of years ago that was free (if they're still available): Kidcot Activity Books at Epcot

Our son just graduated from preschool. While he was there, we did the Epcot books and also collected masks from the World Showcase once for them (it was a small class). They had a lot of fun coloring the masks.

On our last trip we bought the Mr Potato Head Disney accessories and will combine them with a Mr Potato body that we got at a yard sale. The teacher's new class will love playing with it.

My Mom is a second grade teacher, and when we went to Disney World in December, she brought back the different hot cocoas that they have. They have five or six different colors - the hot cocoa tastes really good even in Cinderella Blue of Stitch Red. It is actually my FAVORITE hot cocoa! Just an idea, though...

The pretzels and things like that are also a great idea. That way it is something that the children are bound to enjoy, but they don't have to worry about who stole whose or whatever, which can lead to a lot of frustration for the teacher.

I really like the idea of giving the teacher stickers/stamps to use on the children's papers, too!!

this post is fab as my dd's 5 and 9 are already planning on what to bring back for their friends.

are you sure they dont mind giving you extra straws/stickers/colouring books? i might feel a bit cheeky asking but would like to do it as its a great idea.

love
