Hi all!

New to this board! Thanks, DoeWDW. :wave2: I'm trying to get some tips on eating better and maybe pick up a few recipes/ideas along the way.

I work from home so I have easy access to the kitchen, and the pantry calls my name about every two hours (b-fast, snack, lunch, snack, snack, dinner, sometimes dessert/wine). Eating frequently is good, but I also tend to grab not-so-good things for me (cookies, cokes, etc). I need to work through those cravings. :)

What I am looking for are some protein-heavy breakfast meals that will last me til lunchtime. I love bagels, cheese, p-nut butter, but don't care for eggs. Also don't want any fattening meats - like sausage - everyday. And I'm trying to cut out processed sugar b/c it makes me feel so sluggish.

Any ideas are appreciated!!! TIA!

Glad to see you here! Welcome to the WISH board!

Lately I've been eating an apple with lots of peanut butter slathered on it - I'm amazed at how long it keeps me going!

If I get hungry before lunch, I'll grab a string cheese.

I'm sure there are others with good ideas here!

How do you feel about cottage cheese? My favorite new "discovery" is cottage cheese mixed with fruit (I don't know if I could eat cottage cheese alone). I've mixed it with fresh pineapple, and fresh blueberries, and both combinations were very good.

I also buy lean ham (the slices of the whole ham). Sometimes there's a thin line of fat on the edge, so I just trim it off.

Maybe some turkey bacon?

The vegetarian "sausage" patties made by Morning Star Farms and Boca are high in protein and low in fat. My son like to have one or two of these with his eggs in the morning. This high protein combo has been more satisfying than the high carb meals he had been eating. If you do not like eggs, you could try the patties on a bisquit or with some whole grain bread.

Also, cottage cheese mixed with Pace Picante Sauce is wonderful if you are not a big sweets/fruit eater.

And I love the flame grilled Boca burgers. I nuke 'em for 50 seconds, plop them on a whole wheat english muffin, and add a slice of cheese. (I should start adding tomato and lettuce, come to think of it!...get those veggies in!)

What about some sort of tortilla wrap?

When I was on WW this was a favorite breakfast of mine and it was decent on points.

Small Bagel with cream cheese (don't pile it on)
Fruit
2 oz of cheese (low fat)

It is filling and delicious.

I like to roll a couple pieces of ham around a cheese stick and grab a handful of raw almonds or sunflower seeds. Pretty filling, high in protein, and low in carb. Top off with a glass of hot tea, unsweetened soy milk, diet V8 splash or my homemade lemonade sweetened with stvia.

Low carb gronola with low carb yogurt is good too. Not as high in protein as above breakfast.
