This is not the typical recipe request help thread.

Tonight, our waiter gave me an avocado when he present me with dining receipt to sign after 2 hour dinner. He only gave me the fruit and nothing else--spice, sauce, prep tool/plate/cup.....only the cold avocado straight off a truck.

So, what would you do in a regular room (no kitchen/kitchette) with an avocado?

:rotfl: No drinking adult beverages on this trip yet. Just another adventure in Walt Disney dining with me.

Totally bizarre! But I L-O-V-E avocado. If I could only have one food the rest of my life, avo would be it. OhSheGlows (google her) makes an AMAZING chocolate torte with an avocado base :lovestruc

I would eat the avo plain, but I'm weird like that. Bring it to Pecos Bills and make a salad with the condiment bar?

kidding kidding kidding. I have no clue :confused3

Ok....I dine out....alot.

I have never been presented with fresh produce when receiving the final bill.

Where did you dine? Did you question the avocado gift? Was there an explanation?

By the way....avocados are currently $2.49 each at Publix.

We changed our dinner adrs from La Hacienda to Maya Grill because we have to be at MK for our 8 am CP breakfast. We do not get up to well that early in the am...however, we want our friends from Spain to have their first visit to Magic Kingdom to have that special magic in seeing Cinderella's castle with very few people in the park.

Last year, we had a good dinner at Maya Grill with no problems. We may even had the same server.

The waiter did explained that he knew that I had wanted some sliced avocado with my meal since I could not eat the vegetables that came with it (well...my choices were mashed potatoes, green beans, and corn. I said that I was not in the mood for mashed potatoes and green beans. After my fourth bite of corn, I was presented with a bowl of rice and was told that the chef now recommended for me to avoid the corn). It was really not a big deal for me that I had no avocado with the meat since I was almost full after the appetizer. I thanked him and signed the papers. We just wanted to go finish a couple of things before turning in for the night.

I got many looks as I was walking the hallway from the Maya Grill to the front desk area (NC Beast had to check on another minor issue). We stopped at Cafe Rix and asked the chef if he had anything that we could use for the avocado that the Maya Grill gave us. He gave us paper plates and said that the Pepper Market window should have pepper and salt that we can use. We went to the Pepper Market enterance and debated on asking if they have any salsa for our avocado. We decided to get salt and pepper at the window just for now. We explained to the cast member that we were given an avocado and was told that he might have salt and pepper. He went into the Pepper Market condiments and got us the seasonings...sadly no additional guacomole makings.

I don't know if this avocado will be eaten since we have 3 cs and 3 ts and 4 snack credits to use before we fly home on Tuesday. I can't imagine going through MCO security with a soft avocado.

:rolleyes1 This is not my first weird dining experience at CSR.

I would give it a name and take its picture in various interesting locations. It would make an interesting souvenir of the trip.:rotfl2:

:rotfl: That's funny! If you decide not to name it, I would bring it to the parks and everytime you had a sandwhich or burger, cut off a slice and stick it in. I love avacados on just about everything.

Grab some onion from Pecos Bills then head to Tortuga Tavern for chopped tomato. Ask for some lemon (prob no limes) in line while ordering nachos. Mix all with dash salt and pepper and enjoy!

Also like the "touring Avacado" idea. Make sure to give him a fun name.

My favorite way to eat avocados is to mash them up with salt and lemon juice. Best guacamole ever! It was also easy to eat when my jaw was broken. I mashed the guacamole between the tines of a fork, which was about all I could get into my mouth after the braces were removed.

My second favorite way to eat them is to cut them in half, remove the seed, cross-hatch the halves and fill the bowl with balsamic vinegar. Then, I eat it straight out of the shell with a spoon.

Make a face mask! Avocado is really good for the skin. I have never tried it myself, but there are lots of recipes out there!

Go and pamper yourself ;)

Yum! Just eat it with a little salt and pepper.

That is a hysterical story, Belle. I don't know what I'd do if they handed me produce at a WDW restaurant. :rotfl:

Sorry, but for me the best way to eat an avocado is just add salt. Yummy!

Find some Tortilla soup somewhere & cut up the avocado into it. TOTALLY DELICIOUS!

Sayhello

I love making what I call "Ghetto Guacamole." Basically, take an avocado, cut it in half, remove the seed and scoop out the flesh. Mash the avocado together with some salsa, salt and pepper.

That said, your story is hilarious! I love that they thought this was a good idea. :rotfl:

Update...

Monday, the avocado met his fate. NC beast sliced it and salted/peppered it as a late night treat. I took pictures since I was under the weather.
