Need ideas for a hostess gift

I am going to a formal Chirstmas party this Saturday. What are some nice hostess gifts to give??? I can't think of anything other than a bottle of wine.

How about something nice for breakfast the next morning? A nice basket of muffins or a loaf of banana bread wrapped up with a pretty bow. They might appreciate not having to worry about breakfast after a long night of entertaining/cleaning up. I did this once for an "Old School Keg Party" we went to as adults. I brought a "hangover kit" - coffee cake, gatorade and Advil - they loved it!

I usually buy bulb kits to give to hostesses during the holiday season. You know like an amaryllis or paper white lillies for them to plant after the chaos of the season. You can sometimes find at Walmart/ Target or even grocery stores-much more expensive from farm stands or florists.

Christmas CD--I want the new Michael Buble one, pretty coaster set, nice jar candle in Christmas scent, OR I once read that you should get the hostess something nice/extravagant for her to eat the morning after the party--fresh muffins with a nice jam, starbucks coffee to put in their coffee maker, etc

I buy large Yankee candles when I can get them for half off. They're a nice hostess gift if you know they like candles. If I know they don't, I'll give a bottle of wine or some good chocolate.
