Last year for a surprise on the day before DD's birthday I let her sleep in and when she got up I told her she wasn't going to school we were having a mommy daughter day. We went and had pedicures at a local spa where I had made sure that we could have them done at the same time sitting next to eachother. Then we went and had lunch at the place of her choosing then we went shopping for a couple hours. She was in heaven and had the best day.
I think I would like to make it a tradition that we do something her birthday weekend just the two of us. My DH always goes to the ACC tournament and is out of town for several days around that time so it works out good.
This year I was thinking that maybe I could find somewhere not to far away that we could for a night or two just the two of us. We're in central virginia so anywhere in about a 3 hour radius would work. We have family in Northern Va so that's a good area as well. I just don't want to spend a fortune. And she's going to be 8. We'll be leaving little brother with either my parents or DH parents if we head up that way. Any ideas?
