Okay, starting to maybe plan a trip for end of September, just trying to figure out the best places to stay...

The trip will be me and my dad and my toddler, but my dad snores very very loudly so I think we might spring for either two rooms or a suite, something where there is a door between us!

Do any the resort hotels have connecting rooms?

Do any local hotels besides the resort ones have good suites?

Any personal favorites? I've stayed at Best Western Stovall's which I liked alright, but at least our room did not have a connecting door. I've also stayed at the Anaheim Fairfield Inn by Marriott which was nice and had connecting rooms, but I'd like to stay a little closer. It was only an extra block or two past the intersection, but that feels like forever at the end of the day... Money is sort of an issue, but not a strong one. I want a good place at a good value - I'd rather pay a little more to really be happy.

Last Oct we stayed at DoubleTree Suites and we were very happy with our stay. Our room had two queen beds and the living room had a sleeper sofa. I guess either you or your dad would have to be out on the sleeper sofa in that case so you could shut the door. It's about 1 mile to the entrance on Harbor Blvd, we would usually walk to the park in the morning and take ART back at night. One thing we didn't try is walking to the Toy Story lot and getting on the bus there, less of a walk and it's free. If we stayed there again we would try that. This Aug trip we are staying at Embassy Suites S because it's about $50 less per night and we get free breakfast, for our stay of 6 nights it makes a big difference in cost otherwise we would stay at DoubleTree again. There's also a new Homewood Suites opening up in Sept that's about 1/2 mile away, I was really hoping they would open in Aug but it looks like I'll have to wait until next year. They are currently taking reservations starting in Nov and I saw prices around $120 per night.

We travel with my little family and my mom. We have to have a door btwn us because DH snores and my mom can't sleep through it. We've done well in the C2 suite at Desert Inn and Suites. Its basically like 2 full rooms that adjoin, 2 queen beds in each room as well as a little parlor area with a sofa bed which is a great place to store your stroller if you have one. You get better rates with them the earlier you book.

We've also gotten adjoining rooms at Hojos and that has worked perfectly as well. I realize that one isn't closer than Fairfield Inn though so it probably wont work for you.

Lots and lots of new hotels in Anaheim now and more coming.

Look for the Homewood Suites next to the Toy Story lot, the Hyatt House, SpringHill Suites Anaheim Resort Convention Center, the Residence Inn next door (640 Katella), the Residence Inn Maingate and Hyatt Place. There is also the new Courtyard and Holiday Inn Express too.

We have stayed at all three onsite hotels with the request of adjoining rooms, and we have recieved them every time. There is also a new courtyard marriot being built that will have suites within walking distance.

Park Vue has what they call a triple queen and also a 2 queen and sleeper sofa. Both are 2 room suites and they run the same price - around $180 a night. I would think the motels across the way from DLR all have some connecting rooms. Just check out their websites - here is a map with the names of the hotels http://anaheim-attractions.10-best.info/disney_map.pdf

I stayed in a 1 bedroom suite at Desert Palms (two queens in bedroom - sofabed in living room) which also had a full kitchen and free breakfast. It is on the ART or 10 minute walk to parks (1/2 mile). It is a hotel not a motel if that matters.

The Annabella has some setups with 2 rooms. They're not all meant for big groups, either. I haven't done the walk from there with kids, but it should be an easy one through the GC.

Thanks for this tip! We are planning for November and this is a better price than the HoJo's we reserved (plus a suite vs. a room). Does anyone know which of the two is a shorter walk to the parks? Or are they similar? Thanks!

After checking out some maps, I think I've answered my own question. Looks like Homewood is .9 miles and HoJo's is .5 miles to the entrance.

Echoing on the Desert Palms. They have suites where one room is walled off. However, what's left is a bunk bed and a pull out sofa, I believe. You may not have the most comfortable of beds, but any bed is better when it's quiet.

The "A Parlor Suite" at the DI&S is two rooms. I have this one for an up coming trip for the exact reason you mention.... Snoring.
For the end of September the rates are $169 to $189 per night. The rate increases closer to travel dates.

We have stayed multiple times at the Residence Inn Maingate. It's great! It is within walking distance of Disneyland, but at the end of a long tired day we found we were always willing to wait and ride the bus. Our last trip we tried Ayres Hotel. It is much further away, but still served by bus. We figured since we were always using the bus anyway, why not try someplace a bit cheaper. It was also awesome!...in fact, I preferred the bus from Ayres as it seemed MUCH less crowded and was at MOST a 3 or 4 minute longer ride. If $$ is not a huge factor, we would choose the Residence Inn over Ayres, but for a bit of cost savings the Ayers was definately not a bad alternative.
