We are going to WDW 4/28-5/5. We are staying at a timeshare owned by MIL but we can't check in until Sunday and are arriving Sat. So we need a hotel for Sat night for 2 adults and 3 kids. Should we stay on property? I don't want to pay much more than $150 for the night.

I wouldn't mess with the on-property thing for one night. You won't get any of the benefits of it. I might check into one of the suite type hotels that offers a breakfast buffet and then head over to your timeshare.

for a family of 5 - I would recommend - cypress pointe or embassy suites.

of course you could get 2 rooms at a cheaper place.

oh forgot - there is an advantage to staying on property that one night - EMH - saturday I don't even know - but Sunday (and yes you get use to Sunday too) is the MK.

It's getting harder to book CP through HK for one night...at least I couldn't for May 19th....3 day minimum only. But if you can get it, go for it. It's a great deal.

When do you arrive on Saturday? If you are flying in and arriving later in the day, I'd just book an Embassy Suites and let the kids play in the pool. Have their huge cooked to order breakfast in the morning before leaving.

you are so right - 3 days min on CP these days.

We have stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn in Lake Buena Vista for one night bookending our stay at the BWV. We had a 2 room suite and it was very nice. We enjoyed the free breakfast buffett. There's another Residence Inn on Westwood Blvd near Sea World that also looked nice.

I would also recommend checking for deals on travelzoo.com

We are driving down on 4-14 but don't check in at WDW POFQ until 4-15.
We were able to book a suite for 4-14 for $129.00 at Buena Vista Suites. Sleeps up to 6, they don't require more than a one night stay and everyone in your party gets a free breakfast buffet! We booked this through Dreams Unlimited.

I would try to get Comfort Suites Main Gate East through hotelmartusa.com You can get a price of $79/nt including taxes and it includes a free deluxe continental breakfast. The rooms sleep six. My mom and sisters stayed here and really enjoyed it. The pool was nice and breakfast was a plus.

We used priceline for a two night stay at the end of our trip and got 2 1/2 star upscale Orlando Vista for $42 a night. The room will sleep two adults and 3 kids. They have kid suites within the adult rooms. It's right outside DTD

Priceline is that way to go here. Just don't go below 2 1/2 stars. I personally won't go below 3 stars. We've used it three times for last minute short trips. Once we stayed at the Wyndham on International drive, very nice. We spent two nights here, while attending a wedding and squeezing in a little bit of Disney. We have also stayed at the Holiday Inn on I-Drive. Not as nice as the Wyndham, but the it was a great New Years trip for a bowl game and a day at Universal. On our most recent trip we actually chose the airport area and stayed at the Hyatt in the airport. We weren't there for the parks, so it suited us. It was the nicest of all of these and my children LOVED watching the planes from our balcony. This would be a great choice if you are arriving late at night.
