Need hotel advice for Boca Raton area

I will be in the Boca area (alone) for my company Christmas party, and am looking for a very inexpensive hotel. I won't have a car, so I'd love a place that has inexpensive diner/fast food/shopping within walking distance. It would be wonderful if the rate included free breakfast, cable, pool, etc. It would be for one person, for two nights, 12/10-12/12. The only way I can get my boss to pay for a hotel (instead of his asking one of my coworkers to put me up) is if it is cheap. I think the party will be in Ft Lauderdale. I might opt to stay close to where one of my coworkers live, so I can hang out with them for the weekend. The coworker I am speaking of lives in Deerfield Beach.

I live about 20 minutes north of boca- let me see what I can pull up. do you want to be near 1-95 or the turnpike since you will be traveling to ft lauderdale? Boca tends to be expensive though. I remember staying at a nice embassy suites in deerfield on the beach for a wedding a few years back. that might be a option.

so I'm not sure what area is best. I guess whichever is the safest and most convenient, as well as walking distance for inexpensive (fast/diner) food and shopping.
I was hoping to fing something discounted for about 50/night.

Boca Raton is a very expensive area. We stayed there a few years ago for a business conference my husband was attending and the grocery store had valet parking...

I would say $50 per night would be tough to find.

You might look over at www.biddingfortravel.com and see if anyone has received priceline bids in that area for the price you are looking for. That might be the only way you don't have to stay in a questionable place for that price. You wouldn't know exactly what you are getting until you bid though, but that board can tell you what others have received before, and you can narrow down a specific area.
