Need Help

MS has referred to "City Taxi" as transportation from the airport to BCV. What is this and is it a good deal? We have always used Mears so I don't know about anything else.

There are many taxis serving the airport. Perhaps the so-called "City Taxi" to which you referred is Yellow/City Cab"? Other taxis are Diamond Cab, Ace/Metro, Star Taxi, and Town & Country Transport. They are available on Level 1 at the A and B sides of the terminal.
There are many good towncar services.
Depending on the number of people in your group you have lots of options. It depends on many factors, including size of your group, as to which one of the options to take.

There will be 7 of us on this trip. I'm looking for the most cost effective way to go. I'm not sure if "City Taxi" is the name of a company or just a generalization.

You can probably, with 7 people, beat the cost of a taxi, do it in style, get there fast with one of the towncar/limo services, and get a 1/2 hour grocery stop, if you need it. You can book online, get discounts, confirm by email and have meet and greet service.
