we are staying for the first time in 3 weeks at the board walk. and i have booked a 1 bedroom apartment for myself my partner and my 2 boys.
may i add at this time the boys are mine from my old marriage. would you say it is better to have a 1 bedroom view of the baordwalk for all of us or to have a little more space and get 2 standard rooms for myself and my partner and put my boys in the next room to us if this is possible.
buy the way they are 14 and 9 years old.
any thoughts on this would be helpfull.

I take you are talking about 2 studio instead of a 1-bedroom - right?

well I think one of the parties in a studio needs to be over 18 years old - could be wrong - but I think that is the cut off.

do your boys slept well together - could you bring a sleeping bag for one of them - they could change each night - one slept on the sleeper sofa the other the bag. If you want to do the 1-bedroom.

how do you feel about 1 bathroom for everyone - will this work?

if not go for 2 studios - if you are certain that your kids won't kill each other without you present. (okay my family fights alot!!!)

I think at BWV you can get 2 studios next to each other - the dedicated studio I think is next to a lock-out studio/1bedroom.

may sure that MS knows that you must have 2 studios as close together as possible.

IMO I would keep my boys w/me. They can sleep in the living area on the pull out couch while your partner and yourself would sleep in the Master Bedroom. It is very private if that is your concern. We only stay in 1 bedrooms and larger at WDW, and we have never had a privacy issue w/our kids in the living area. You can even take a bath in the master jacuzzi tub (big enough for 2) while leaving the toilet area accessable to the kids in the living area :) I think you would loose alot by downgrading to 2 studios such as the full kitchen and in room laundry not too mention the worry of your kids in a room by themselves.

Also as a side note, the boardwalk views are VERY hard to get, so don't set yourself up for disappointment. Chances are you may end up in a pool view or canal view. If you are not a DVC member or renting points; therefore not booked in preffered or standard view as WDW reservations only have one category, then you may even end up w/a view of the front entrance (not a bad view IMO). Just be prepared for any view :)

Unless the DVC rules are different than from CRO, you cannot get a room for two minors. You would have to be in a resort that has connecting rooms. (i.e. I have stayed at CBR twoice where we had a kids room and a parents room, but they were connected. Ressies were in my name and the wife's name). Your best bet at DVC would be a 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom villa.

If the two boys don't mind sharing the hide-a-bed, they can have the living room all to themselves, and you and your partner can have the bedroom all to yourselves, with the door shut between. There will be two bathroom areas. One that has a sink and one that has a toilet. Can't remember if the sink room has the jacuzzi and the toilet room the shower or if it is the other way around at BWV. At any rate, the living room kids will have access to the toilet part of the bathroom through the hall. A 1 bedroom is much better than two studios anyway.
