Need help with VERY budget trip

DH's company used to have an account with Baymont and he usually stayed with them when he had to travel to smaller towns. I went along a few times and they tended to be clean and nice enough. I would put them in the Holiday Inn Express category except not as nice as the newer HI Expresses but more like the old style. Just watch the location!

:rotfl:
From the photos (taken by real people on tripadvisor not just the ones the hotel posts) the interior does look really nice. Judging from the street view in Googlemaps the outside isn't nearly as impressive but I think perhaps ghetto flophouse might be a bit of an exxageration. Course, I haven't been there in person...

But I have.

I'm not a cowardly type and even I worried about the unsavory-ness of the place from the outside. The parking lot was all torn up and the outside corridors were really nasty, very torn up. Those 'street' views are the very small portion that was renovated in the registration area of the hotel.

Now, that was last May and they may have finished the renovations. But, again, we would go back if we got a good rate because the rooms themselves were lovely. I sleep inside, not out.
