Hi everyone, I need some help with my resort stay. I am currently booked at POP with 2 rooms for 11 nights from Aug. 23-Sept. 3 but I have been thinking about upgrading. I will be traveling with my wife, my parents and my 3 yr old daughter. My wife and I have been to Disney every year for the past 7 yrs and have stayed at quite a few different disney hotels with our favorite being the BC. For us money isn't a big issue because it is our one and only vacation each year so we splurge. We really shouldn't spend the extra money. Anyway with my parents they are slightly more strapped financially and POP is ok for them because it is alot cheaper. My thing is though I want them to have a great vacation it's there first one in about 5 yrs. I know that if money was absolutely no issue they would choose the BC but since it is they sacrificed a little and went with POP. I have chosen to pay the difference for them so we could stay at the BC but is it really worth it? What would you do? Traveling with a 3yr old should I stay at POP just because of the theme? I like the fact that BC is so close to MGM, Epcot and the ESPN side of the boardwalk but is this worth the price difference? I personally don't hate POP but I just prefer BC. If we were to stay at BC we would most likely be going to POP for breakfast each morning since we find that the best thing for early morning. I have so many things running through my head right now that I just keep flopping back and fourth between hotels. Can you all please help me make this a little easier? If you were in my situation what would you do and why?

IMO, if it's bothering you to stay all 11 nights at POP, then I would consider splitting up your stay and spending part of your trip at POP then move over to Beach Club for a few nights towards the end of your stay. Not only will it be more economical but it will satisfy everyone. If you pay the difference for your parents then it'll only be for a few nights vs. all 11.

How about a compromise and stay at a moderate resort? They have great theming, will give you a little extra room and better amenities than a value. The cost difference between the value and mods won't break the bank and you'll get to experience a different resort.

Have you considered renting points from a DVC member and getting a 2 bedroom villa at the BCV? I don't think it would cost much more than 2 rooms at the Beach Club. It might even be less, depending on what kind of discount you could get for the BC rooms. Ball park estimate to rent for your particular 11 nights would be $4700 (there is no tax when you rent from a DVC member).

You'd have a fully equipped kitchen, a jacuzzi tub and a washer/dryer right in the unit, plus lots of extra "common" space that you wouldn't get in the two rooms. Think what a nice perk that would be if you need to do naps or have to spend time in your room in the evenings. And you'd still have access to SAB and all the amenities of the BC/YC BCV resort complex.

Best wishes -

Why not split your stay between the two resorts thus saving half of the money you would spend for a full 11 days at BC?

I actually have the annual pass rate now at POP which w/taxes is about $83.00 a night. Not sure what it would be at BC w/taxes. As far as DVC point that scares me a bit I am not to sure because my Father and mother inlaw travel to disney every year also and did purchase DVC point from people in the past and had quite a few problems that made them stop using them.

Renting DVC points for a stay is very safe. However, if you want to rent points for a stay at BCV you have to do it 7-11 months in advance. It books up VERY quickly since it's a smaller resort and very popular.

Your inlaws will have a great stay at the POP. It's plenty of room for just 2 people, or even two with a little one. Just being on Disney property makes for a good vacation!
