need help with switching resorts & stuff

after finally deciding on the beach club i am thinking of splitting our stay. we are going for 4 nights and i am thinking of keeping the first 2 nights at beach club and then the last 2 nights at grand floridian. i have a package code for beach club now (i think YQB). just a few questions if i do this.

1. would i be able to keep this package and just switch the last 2 nights over to grand floridian?

2. how would tickets work? the package includes them but is for a 4 night stay. would i need two separate reservations?

3. how would i get our lugguage to grand floridian?

4. will magical express pickup from a different resort than they dropped off?

I can answer #3 for you. Bell services will transfer your belongings to GF. You just need to call them to arrange it. You need to be in the room when they come get your luggage. They'll give you a receipt/ticket to present to bell services at the next hotel.

My guess for #4: I think you would need to call ME to change your pick up information. I don;t think it would be a problem, since many people split their stays.

i just did a little more research. it seems that the package i booked could only be booked until 10/22. i assume that this means that if i cancel, i will have to pay the rack rate for both of the new reservations. is this correct?

if so i will have to think about it because the additional cost may be too much with xmas coming. from what i have read on these boards, to do what i want, i should book 2 nights at beach club with a 5 day park pass and book a room only at grand floridian for the other 2 nights and then call ME to arrange the different pickup place. is this right? anyway around paying rack rates for this?

in case any was interested in the answer, i finally got ahold of someone at reservations who said that i wouldn't lose my discount on the first 2 nights but would have to pay the regular rate for the last 2 nights if i changed them. and just as you guys said, they were going to book a room only for the end of the stay and leave the 5 day tickets on the first reservation.

problem now is with me going back and forth and trying to get an answer, GF only has suites left during that time. oh well...such is life!

My recommendation based on prior experience I would not change resorts for anything less than 3 nights at each location. If you do, you are only going to be checking in and checking out and not ever getting settled.

I would not be the least upset about staying at the Beach Club. You can save the Grand for another trip.
