If your booking was a round trip you must cancel both flights going and returning. If going is now higher you could end up paying higher. I always book one way flights so if the lower price comes up I cancel one and book the lower price flight.

woo hoo, you're off to a really Happy New Year!
:cool1:
Have your conf # handy. go to their website and click on Travel Tools from the tabs at the top.
Then click on Change Air Reservation. It will ask for your conf. # and your name.
It will confirm which ressie you want to change then let you rebook a new flight. You can still keep the same exact flight you already had or you can choose a different one.
On the final page it will tell you how much your credit is for.

Personally, once I do have a credit, I go under travel tools, then click on View Ticketless Travel Funds, enter the conf # and it will tell you the amount of your credit and the exp. date. I print it out so I can save it separately from my travel papers for future use.
If you lose that conf. #, SW cannot track down that credit for you.
Once you do it a few times, it gets easy. Good luck and Happy New Year!!

Yes, it is much easier to change flights if you book as 2 one ways.

How cool it worked!!! Now I guess, I have $80 credit towards a future flight? Need to use within a year? No way to get cash back I assume(I just did reg airfare not refundable)

You must use that credit within in 1 year of your original booking date. So say you booked your trip on September 1st, then you must travel on or before September 1st of the following year.

Awesome! When are you traveling? I'm leaving mci to lax in august and would love a $59 fare. Kind of doubt it, but its good to see some of those fares still exist.
