Here's the deal....my daughter is moving back to our town and staying with us for a while. I have an older desktop computer and my daughter has a laptop. She had a wireless router in her other house and a DSL line. I have a DSL line and only a modem. We want to plug up her wireless router to my DSL line so we both can access the internet from here, however, I am not sure if it will work as my computer is a 2000 model. The modem I have does not have but just so many places to plug into and we are not sure what to do. I know there are some computer whiz's on these boards, so please get me started. Thanks!

Modem goes into the dsl line which goes to the wall. wire 2 goes from modem to the router. you shouldn't need other wires, since its wireless. If you want to connect your computer to the network, but wired, then wire 3 would go into the router from your computer. Her laptop should still be wireless. Did that make sense? You'll need the network key from her too (long code normally) for your computer to work.

Go to the router manufacturer's web site, look under support and find our router and the look for the manual. That may help.
