We ate at the castle when my older kids were younger, but haven't been there in seveal trips. Last year I tried to get a ressie for one of the 5 days we were at WDW but failed.

We are going to WDW in July and I started the process again yesterday. Twice I have called at 6:55 only to get a CM on the line by 7:03 or 7:04 and have been told no tables for 5 exist at that point. We have a 3 year old so they insist it has to be one of the fewer larger tables. I got on CM last year who booked us at the castle for lunch at one table and it worked out fine. Neither of the two CM's I've talked to yesterday or today would go that route.

Any suggestions? I have three days left to try. Should I be calling at 6:45 or 6:50?

Thanks.:(

We did this last year and we had a party of 13 or 14. We had 4 of us call the first morning to get the ressie. My wife got in at 7:00 and made the ressie. I finally got through at 7:03 and they were booked for that day. My only suggestion is to have multiple people call and maybe you will get lucky. Sorry, but that is all I have. Good luck!

I can tell you why they refuse to go that way! Behing the podium at all restaurants a binder is kept. In it misbookings arew written down. If you show up with 5, and the PS is for 4 they'll still take you, but your ressie # and the name of the person who made it will go into this book. Every so often the managers go through the book and contact the managers of the people who misbooked. These people then get im trouble, especially when they book a 5 on a 4top. So please don't ask the CRO CM to do this for you, they will get in trouble! (They even get in trouble if you "forget" to tell them about the small child. This happened to me. A man told me he had a party of 4, I booked him, and he showed up with 4 and a small child. I got in trouble.)

Also, there are some 4tops that can fit 4 and a small child and even if you are booked on a 5 top, they might sit you there. But they cannot book a 5 on a 4top and assume you will be sat at one of those because there is no way to know if one of those tables will be open when you arrive.

I would also try the multiple callers-when we finally got CRT last year it was after me, my DH and my DSIL all called using every available phone.

What they offered us last year was a 4 top with the high chair on the side as long as it was in the corner....and it worked fine. I would never ask to put 5 place settings on a table for 5, but most high chairs take up 1/2 the seating space of a real chair. And a 3 yr old only needs a square foot of space for a milk cup and some snacks in a bowl. I have no illusions of a real meal being consumed.

Unfortunately this trip is a surprise for my teens (one of whom is graduating from 8th grade) and it was very difficult being on the phone during the time they were getting ready for school these past two mornings. They are starting to suspect something. I'm going to have to take the house phone and my cell phone and go sit in the car starting at 6:30 tomorrow! They'll think I'm nuts, but they won't come out to find out why. My husband will just have to make up some excuse.

I'm taking both teens and 13 other friends to see Avril Lavigne tonight.....so maybe they'll leave me alone tomorrow???:D :D

Unfortunately, the WDW policy is still the same. Even if you have 4 adults and an infant in a stroller, it must be booked as a 5 top. I assume that the person who booked it like that last yr was probably written up in the book since it is not policy to offer a 4 top with a high chair on the end. Like I said, this does happen, putting a high chair on the end of a 4 top, but it still must be booked as a 5 top. And not all 4 tops can have 4 adults (or 2 adults two children etc.) and a high chair on the end, so they are not allowed to offer this because there is no way to know one of these tables will be open when you arrive (or opening soon).

We were prepared for the worst when we tried to get in at CRT.
We too are a party of 5 (4 adults & 3 yr old)

I started calling at 6:47am. I would dial, hang up, dial ,hang up until I got through. I had two phones going, my home phone & my cell phone.

Finally around 6:58am I got through on BOTH phones. My home phone picked up first (hung up my cell after that) I said real quickly "Party of 5 for Cinderella, anytime"

I got a 9:00am PS for our first full day at Disney.
I was done with the phone call by 7:01am

Just keep trying....GOOD LUCK!

I had good luck with both CRT and Illuminations cruise by programming my cell phone, starting to call a few minutes before 7AM, and pushing redial. Illuminations had me on hold for a few seconds before answering, but there was no music so I held on and - yep!- got my boat. Cindy's answered a little after 7 according to my clock but got tables for 8 ( I asked for 8 or fewer) with no problems. It's probably luck, but you can bet I'll use that programmed cell phone for future ressies.

I tried again this am and with the advice I got yesterday I had 3 phones going at 7:54. One of them at 7:56 struck pay dirt. I heard the "open" recording pressed "1" and up came a CM's voice. We got a table for 5 at 9am on 7/15....later than I wanted....but my 3 year old is NOT an early riser. So this is just fine. My kids will not care that they could have been in the park an hour earlier - only their WDW obsesses mom.

And we have ressies for bkfst with the princesses the 14th.
So we're all set. YEAH!

And my kids are still all asleep and don't yet have a clue about this upcoming trip! We didn't get home from the Avril Lavigne concert last night till midnight (17 of us on a bus!). Someday, when I'm gone I hope they realize all the "stufff" this crazy mom does for them! ;)

Yippeee!!! You are going to have such a wonderful time:D
