Need help with resort choice

I am trying to plan my trip for 2018. We are going in September so this trip will be a little shorter than our normal trips. Usually we stay 10 days with 7 park days and a couple of swim days. So next year we are staying 7 nights with 7 park days and no swim days. We have to cut this trip a little shorter because of the kids being in school. We have always stayed at a deluxe resort with the exception of AOA. We have stayed there a couple of nights here and there in the standard room and a suite. This will be our 6th year in a row going. My debate is whether to try a moderate or a value for next year because the only time that we will be in the room is to shower and sleep. We have always went to the parks at rope drop and stay until close with no breaks. We just got back last month and spent 17 hours in Animal Kingdom with no breaks!! Lol .
With that being said I really don't want to spend a lot of money on a deluxe resort when I will not get to enjoy the resort at all. We just need a place to shower and sleep. My only problem is that I will admit that I am totally a "hotel snob"!! So I need help choosing a reasonable hotel that I would be happy at! I have never stayed at the moderates but was looking at Coronado?

I'd either do pop or port orleans riverside princess rooms. Those rooms at POR are by far my favorite place I stayed on property and that's over deluxes

I really want to stay at a por princess but those prices are almost as much as a deluxe!!

I am in the same category as you in terms of hotels. My family and I primarily stay in deluxe but have gone with moderate and value resorts in the past. The level of service is simply not the same with moderate and value. The main difference we have found with deluxe versus others is that others often have food courts, pool areas, and bus areas which are much more hectic and noisy. Even if the hotel is simply a place to sleep (as is the case with our family), this makes a huge difference. Especially after a 17 hour day at Animal Kingdom!
