Last year, we stayed at pop century and when I made a reservation for Dec. 2008, I requested the 50's section because I thought that was the same section we were in last year which we loved. We were very close to the main hall and there were bowling pins on the side. I think the room number was 1420. I really loved that location but now I'm second guessing myself. After reading some reviews and info on pop century, I'm starting to think we may have been in the 60's section. I also remember having to park in a different section because it would be closer. Does anyone know what section we were in based on the info I just provided? Should I call and request that specific room? I just thought that the 60's was preffered and I don't want to pay extra for preffered. Maybe we were upgraded last year and I didn't even know. :confused3

The 50's section is the bowling pin section. We stayed there in Sept. 2007. It was a great section to be in. We were on the 1st floor room 3161. It was a great location. It was about 30 feet to the main area an the pool. The 60's section is the Yo Yo section. It is also close to everything. You must have been in the first building 4th floor when you were there before. We were the 3rd building first floor on a corner. Great location.

Hope this helps. If you have any other questions I will be glad to answer.

The 60's buildings have yo-yos on them. The 50's buildings have bowling pins. I hope this helps.

You were in the 50's, but some of the 50's are now preferred.

If your room number started with "1", you were in building 1 which is, yes, in the 50s.
If you're remembering the room number correctly, you were on the fourth floor, not too far from the elevator, facing away from the parking lot.

I actually went through my old stuff from our last trip and I found a map they gave me which said I was in the 50's section and my parking was the 60's. We were on the 1st floor and I remember being so happy about that because I requested it and they gave it to me. My actual room number was 1140. I think I will call and request that specific room. Thanks for all the help.

I think I will call and request that specific room. Thanks for all the help.

Just a warning that your chances of getting that same room again even with a request is pretty small. Like almost nothing. Please don't get your hopes up that you will get that exact room. You might want to think about requesting the 50s section, first floor, building one. Disney will fill your request in the order you state. So with my suggestion, it would be the section first, the floor second, and the building third. Or you can change it around if you want.

I have to second this advice. Requesting one specific room will probably not be something that the room assigner will be able to fill for you. As the PP said, give the room assigner other options.

Thanks. I have already requested the 50's section and a bottom floor so I guess I'll just try asking about the building.

Yeah - you can even add, "facing ___" (parking lot, pool, courtyard, whatever) to increase your chances of getting a room close to the one you like.
