Need help with one way rental from Sanford to Car Care Center

I have NEVER rented a car before. I will be flying into Sanford on April 20th & would like to rent a car, but will only need it to get to POR. My husband will be driving down the next day. The rates I am seeing are crazy so I figure i must be doing something wrong? Please help!! Thank you! (Oh, I will need something to accommodate myself & 3 kids & a couple of carryons. )

Yah, for some reason Alamo is really high for a one day rental for 04/20.

Do you need car seats? I guessing that DH will be driving down most of the luggage.

How about renting from another agency (Hertz, Avis, Budget, etc), drive from SFB to MCO, return car at MCO, then taking DME to POR?

Non-discounted rates for Full Size are $53.49/day @ Hertz, $51.99 @ Avis, and $40.88 @ Budget.

Or drive directly to POR and return the car to MCO the next day when hubby can watch the kids. Then take DME back to POR.
