Ok here goes- We don't have our flightsbooked yet for our Dec trip- but I was playing around with the national car rental site tonight trying to come up with quotes-- well for some reason using the wweb product code, the priceless code and an upgrade coupon I can get a unit CHEAPER if I pick up at WDW instead of MCO- but dropping @ MCO. Plus the weekly rental went down to $89 for a week and $14 for each addl day instead of the $154 for a week and $24 a day--does this seem right?? I mean it dropped my rate from well over $220 to $153 so I am just a bit scared maybe something is wrong...

Also if I were to book say pickup at 11 am and our flight doesnt get there till 7pm am I going to have a problem? Also if I book now can the price change up or down? Also one last question- does it charge my credit card the whole amount when I book or just a portion--sorry have NEVER rented a car or gone on a plane etc so I have lots of questions---thanks for putting up with me!

If the system took what you put it, it will be honored. The rate is great, but, did you consider how you were going to get to WDW to pick it up? Limo's can be expensive and will offset your savings.
Yes, you will have a problem since the WDW stations close early. I believe it is 4 or 5 pm.
They don't charge your credit card until you return the car. The price will not change once you book it, unless you make changes.
This is pretty early in the game to book a car. The rates will change many times between now and December. Book it now if you want and keep on checking.

My guess is that she will be using Disney's Magic Express?? And in that case that is a great rate!!! :flower:

That should not be a problem.

Once you are booked you are guaranteed that rate..unless of course you put your info back in and the price goes down...then you rebook and cancel you other ressie.

National does not charge your credit card until you actually rent the car. Did they ask you for a credit card because that has never happened to me??

Yes we are planning splitting our stay between WDW (POP) and an offiste villa- we plan on using DME coming in so we can pick car up at the transportation center and the rates were SO much lower picking it up there instead of MCO. My credit card number was listed for EA so I didnt know if it would automatically charge it or not.

But the car center at WDW closes at 4? That might create a problem--well maybe not--if I pick it up the second day we are there I will still get the great rate (must be 8 days) Do you all think it really is too early to book it? I am just afraid I wont get as great of deal as I have already found--thanks-Lucinda

The car care center is open 24hs, the dolphin location is only open for a short period of time, 10-5?

Thanks for the great info on when the car center is open- never thought to look at website for it.
Well I went ahead and booked it- for 8 days Dec 18-26,2005 pickup at WDW and drop off at MCO all taxes etc it came to $132 for a standard size. I will keep checking but it is a lot cheaper than the $400 I kept coming up with last week. Thanks for all the help!
