I have read a little bit about various ways to save on meals.

I have an AP so I can get a DDE for $50 and save at restaurants that way.
Didn't know what counter services a DDE is good for.

What exactly is a Q & C or where can I get that information?

Last time at AK, we got a meal voucher which consisted of an entree, bottled drink, and a popcorn or ice cream and had to be used at AK on the same date of purchase. Do the other parks offer these deals as well?

This trip we will probably eat one sit down meal per day and then either go back to FW and eat at the camper or take a sandwich lunch into the park with us. Oh, I do know the DDE is good at Trail's End which is a HUGE plus!!!

Q&C Vouchers have been phased out by Disney now that they are offering a dining option on their packages. The remaining vouchers have an expiration of 5/31/05 are a pretty hot commodity regularly selling for well over their $11.50 purchase price. AK is the only park that offers a meal deal. Good luck planning your trip!

thank you!

so does anyone have an opinion rather or not dde is worth it? we usually do not eat at the fancy sit down resturants (my kids can't sit still that long) so would probably have to make ourselves enjoy a great meal.

We do plan to have a meal in the castle for 7 people and probably one other sit down meal for "sure" in May then we have two other trips planned this year.

The DDE card is worth the cost IF you think that you'll spend at least $250 at any of the participating restaurants during your one-year membership.

If you're staying at a value resort, it's good at all of their food courts. It's also good at the POFQ food court, Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory.

You can use it at Beaches & Cream to get the Kitchen Sink at a discount. Or you can get any alcoholic beverage discounted at any of the participating lounges or restaurants.

Depending on where you're staying, your dining habits and the number of people that you're dining with, that $50 investment could certainly be worth it.

Well duh, I guess I could have calculated how much total I would have needed to spend to offset the cost of the card. THANK YOU Very Much!

I think we will do at least that since there will be between 5-7 people on the next 3 trips.

Is it a 20% discount at the allstar food courts? I know I can get an AP discount there but I think it is 10%. We will probably go back to allstar in October since I hate towing the camper for less than 7 day trips. AND, gas prices will break us!!

Our May trip will be awful towing to FW paying over $2.05 per gallon. The gas attendant told me today they are expecting the cheap stuff to go up to $2.50 per gal :sad2:
