Can anyone hot there in "DISney" land help me with information on who bad it is at WDW during the first 2 weeks July. I know it's hot. I now know it rains daily in central Fl. I'm just trying to get as much info as I can on the "Do's and Do not's" of going to WDW in July. Any help I can get. Just trying to have the most fun.

What are the best DVC resorts in July for teens.:confused3 (both are girls:headache:) And help of how and why.

Thanks

Welcome to Summer in Florida! That's the generic forecast for all of Florida from June to October. The only deviation is hurricane watches and warnings.

I was thinking the exact same thing, Jim. Must be a newer visitor to WDW and Central FL.

We usually have the 3PM rainstorm in our daily plan for our visit to WDW or the beach in South FL.

No, I think it was posted tongue-in-cheek. That's the reason for all the smilies.

Never been to WDW during early july. Planning a possible sweet 16 for this time of the year.:scared1: We love going in the cooler months:worship::lmao: Oct - Jan. Beats the weather in Ky at the same time!!

Doing DVC, is way different animal for more plesant vacations!! I'm just learning when it normally rains. Is it best to do the park at night and early mornings?:yay: Relax midday? Do what? Pool and cookout? :confused3 Never done anything like this? Any ideas and help will do :worship:

From about mid-May thru Sept, there will be an afternoon rainstorm in Orlando. Usually around 2 or 3PM. It may rain at one park and not at the other. Very scattered showers. And frequently lightning.

The weather is extremely hot and humid.

So head out first thing in the morning, plan for the afternoon rain storm and then plan on another evening in the park. Frequently, you'll get an afternoon rain storm that goes into the evening. But as long as you don't get lightning, everything will still be open. And if you do have lightning, you head for the Hall of Presidents, Mickey's Philharmagic, Spaceship Earth, etc.

If you only wear sneakers, have an extra pair along so that one can get wet and you'll have dry ones for later. And buy the Mickey poncho. Forget about those dollar ones from Wal-Mart. They are good for one rainstorm and that's it. The Mickey ones are good for years.

My son likes OKW because it's easy to get to DTD and the pools are nice at OKW.

Thanks Deb & Bill. Anyone else on the DVC resort for the first 2 weeks in July? Best choices for a studio and a 1Br. I've heard a few stories:scared1::headache: about getting a 2Br and find out the other party couldn't make it. And now you can't get a smaller point value room :scared: (could be worth it:rolleyes1)

Won't have experience at the resorts for another week and my girls are only 8.

Depends on how old the teens are...Will you let them wander on their own? BLT - they could take monorail or walk to MK; Boardwalk or Beach Club gives them access to HS/ Epcot and Boardwalk.

BCV has Stormalong Bay if they love to swim... Boardwalks pool looks nice-- not same hustle and bustle as SAB.

would go with a DVC resort close to a park - BLT and VWL for MK

BLT, BCV, BWV for EPcot

BCV and BWV for Studios

would pick your favorite (or two favorites) theme parks and go with that one resort.

go early morning - EMH if possible - then leave when heat, humdity or crowds get to you. go back that early evening.

also definitely use fass passes. in the summer they go fast - go get them in the early morning (and use them later)

AT night use EMH also - so if you can either get park hoppers or annual passes.

during the day when not a parks - go shopping resorts or offsite, DD, or my favorite swimming until it rains then go read a book in your room.

there is also the community hall - BLT you can get there even in a storm - it is the same building.

water - very important - remember even if you think you don't need it - take a water break every hour.

This is very good to know.

The kids will be 16. :scared1: So yes we will let them play alone:eek::laughing:

I guess we will be looking at Epcot resorts. I guess it's time to learn about BWV and BCV.:cheer2:

In summer we do early morning in the parks - afternoon eat and swim at the resort - then return to shut the parks down.

One variation we like though is to stay in the parks when it rains. It is so hot the rain feels good, so we don't care if we get wet. Or those Mickey Ponchos do work great. We have styles from years ago. We just keep doing rides. Lots of people go home when it rains and this is a good time for short lines.

Also, instead of sneakers, try crocs or water shoes. They work well in the wet weather and you don't need to wait until they dry.

We have gone then and it is hot. We do the parks first thing, eat lunch around 11:30 am, and then do one or two more rides and head back to the resort between 1:00 and 2:00 pm.

We then hang around, swim, etc. until dinner time and either eat at the resort and then go back, or go and eat at a park. We don't head back until around 6:00 pm.

This schedule seems to work for us and we are not trying to do things in the really hot part of the day.

Last summer, we did a few nights at BWV and my DD 17 really loved it. Every day, she took a stroll around the resort and boardwalk, just people watching.

We do pretty much the same. Everybody gets a light backpack. In the pack is a rain poncho (rain doesn't stop us and can even be fun in itself), a hand towel (for wiping our face), and at least one person carries a squeeze breeze (Walmart). We're at the parks at rope drop and eat lunch there or somewhere else around noon. Then we head back to the resort to jump in the pool/nap and head out to a different park around 4:00. As the kids get older, we might schedule a couple of "sleep in" mornings. You can also do lunch at one of the other resorts and bring your swim suit in your backpack to swim in a different pool if it's one that allows pool hopping. We regularly go in July and have regularly had great trips. Have fun.

We've done most of our trips in July. DH likes to spend his July birthday in WDW and it's school vacation time. Yes, it's hot. (So is KY this time of year.) We get to the parks early and stay until midday. Then we head back to the room for rest, pool time and nap time before going back out for the evening. We typically get hit with a rain shower or two and sometimes get soaked. For the most part, they're short and it's back to clear skies.

Yes, there are other times of year that are not so hot and are less crowded. July is still doable. Just plan your days to best manage the heat and crowds and have a great time.

12 days until our July trip!!!!

If you book a 2br lock-off and find less guests are coming you can't just drop, let's say, the studio part of the reservation - it will have to be a cancellation of 2br and then hopefully you can rebook into smaller accommodations. You can book a 1 bedroom and a studio but this gets booked as 2 separate units with no guarantee whatsoever that they may possibly connect ( of course you could have luck & find these 2 separate bookings end up as a connected 1 br/studio but odds are not great).

I'd go with BCV or BWV for teens for resorts to explore, places to eat, things to do, they can even walk to Fantasia Gardens minigolf. Or go with BLT but jmho I still think BCV or BWV as first choice, our 3 :dance3: love the overall atmosphere at Epcot resorts

Have fun planning :goodvibes

I'm getting more information then I thought. Thanks everyone. I know there are many of you out there that are at WDW right now. We have about 2 years of planning and I love to make/create as much "magic" as I can. The past 3 trips have been as "magical". I try to plan things to make it look like it's magical. And sometimes magic:wizard: just happens. We love going during the "cooler" months and went to WDW for our first trip at the end of July and that was:scared1:.

Now that we have become DVC members:yay::cheer2: We can plan a more:thumbsup2 relaxing vacation. We are just trying to get an idea of just how to get by with summer temps/crowds/humidity in Florida. Thanks again everyone:hippie:
