Need help with intimate wedding planning

Just curious...is there a reason besides room block you haven't chose custom? I think with 40 people at CG and the cost of the intimate you may just fall into paying around the same as the weekday min for a custom ($10,000) then you can have your cake and eat it to so to speak. For under 40 guests the room block min is 25 nights. You may be suprised how many people stay on property. NONE of our 65 guests stayed OP. All stars in our room block was $100/night ...in summer season! That combined with ME everyone decided just to stay on property and we wound up having to expand our block twice because so many people made a vaca out of it....anyway just a thought. plus you didn't hear this from me but Disney has known to "negotiate" on the block a bit. Maybe you can get them to lower it to 20 nights or so.

If you stick with an intimate I am partial to SBP but I just love the BW. There are a lot of restaurants you can use but with 40 people it gets hairy at most places unless they have a private room. I know at Ohana they wouldn't gaurantee that our party of 40 could be sat together.

Wow everyone thanks for the info. We did finally decide on getting married in Disney for an intimate wedding, having our honeymoon there, then coming back home for a reception. We are going to have a projector screen at our wedding reception to shoe photos of our Disney wedding and honeymoon so that the guests who weren't able to make it, can feel part of the ceremony. Thanks for all of your help! I can't wait to have a disney wedding and honeymoon!!!

in terms of a whirlpool in your room. The garden suites at bwi have them. I would advise you to try renting points though. I had my honeymoon at the beach club in a one-bedroom annd it was the most magical week of my life. I loved the boardwalk area. Good luck to you.

Can you tell me what "renting points" is?? Yeah, I thought that the beach club looked like a nice place to spend our honeymoon!!

If you head over the the DVC Boards here you'll get all the information you need about renting points. We rented points from a DVC member through the Rent/Trade Board for a five night stay at the Boardwalk Villas in 2006. Basically you are paying them to use their points to make a reservation for you to use. You pay them an agreed sum for each point needed for the reservation. We needed 150 points and we paid $10.50 each point. The DVC resorts are absolutely beautiful and when you compare the price charged by Disney to stay there, renting points is a great deal! :)
