I have been looking at off-site houses to stay at for our Disney trip. ( April 21-30 2011) There are just so many to look at and I am overwhelmed. Can anyone tell me if they have stayed in any 3 or 4 bedrooms homes with a pool and gameroom? We have 4 adults and 4 children going. I have looked at VRBO but there are so many and I have never rented a house before.Any help is appreciated. TIA

I just checked the house we usually stay in and it's already booked for your dates. We stay at Windsor Hills which is the closet community to Disney, and we love all the amenities.

Check out this management company: www.floridasunvacationhomes.com
This is the management company for the house we usually rent. Their houses are immaculate and they offer keyless entry so you report right to your house, enter the key code and you are in. They offer 3 and 4 BR homes with private pools and gamerooms. We usually stay in a 4 BR home. Some of the homes listed on VRBO are actually more expensive than the prices through Florida Sun. They also have homes in Sunset Lakes and Emerald Island which are still close to Disney and tend to be a little less expensive than Windsor Hills.

Good luck planning your trip. :goodvibes

You could try looking through this thread for some possibilities.

Or, you could try looking through this thread, but most of these rentals are out in Davenport:

I know that VRBO is very overwhelming, but if you can narrow your search a little bit, it gets a little better. For example, most people on these boards rave about Windsor Hills, so the first thing I did when I first started looking was to start with that community. I quickly realized that for what I wanted in a house, I couldn't afford that community and moved on from there. Do you want a community with a pool and clubhouse? If you do than that really narrows down your search. Do you want to be in the Formosa Gardens area because it is one of the closest areas to WDW? If you do, then that narrows down the communities for you as well. Is price your most important factor? Then you probably want to stay further out and consider some of the houses in the second thread I posted above.

It's good that you know you want a 3-4 bedroom and you want a pool and a game room. Here are some other questions to help you narrow down your search.

-Know your price point including taxes, fees and pool heat (you may need pool heat at the end of April)
-Do you want a spa and a pool or are you happy with just a pool?
-How many en-suite bathrooms do you want? I travel with my parents and my in-laws so we need a minimum of three en-suite bathrooms.
-How many double beds do you need and what size beds do you want. With my crew we need 2 kings and 1 queen.
-Do you want TVs in every bedroom? That is one of our necessities.
-Do you want/need a home with baby equipment? Some homes offer high chairs, pack and plays, strollers... free
-Do you like a home with carpeting or do you prefer more tile? It doesn't matter so much to me, but if I could choose, I prefer tile in the common areas (kitchen, living room, sitting room...)
-Are you looking for elegant or kid friendly? I have four kids and I shy away from places with light colored fabrics.

Once you know exactly what you want, it makes looking through www.vrbo.com still time consuming but a lot easier. I can click on a link and know withing 30-45 seconds if I want to consider it.

Good luck.

You might try the Davenport area, exit 58 off from I-4. I have stayed several times in the Sandy Ridge Subdivision at Jasmine's Palace. You can google Jasmine's Palace and find it. It is 4 bedrooms, pool, game room and everything else you can think of. The house and location are great and you are less than 15 minutes from Disney.

Thanks for the help. I guess since I've never rented a house before I feel a little better renting one that other Disers have stayed in before.Maybe I am a bit paranoid but I would like to know that the person isn't going to take my money and run.:rotfl:

This post is the best I've seen in terms of explaining how to use VRBO! :thumbsup2

Perhaps the mods would consider making this a sticky for those who have never used VRBO or homeaway.

Thanks for all your help on this forum.

Thank you so much for your help. I want back searching on VRBO and found one I think will work. The price is good. Just wondering if anyone has stayed at 58704?

I stayed at this house in Windsor Hills in December of 2008. The process was very smooth. The owners were very friendly and easy to work with. The house was clean, nicely decorated and well taken care of. Windsor Hills is VERY close to Disney and is perfect if a house to rent is what you're looking for. The maintenance people were right on top of things when we needed them (the pool was too hot...believe it or not...they came and turned it down very shortly after calling). If my husband and I weren't so addicted to staying on property I would definately rent from them again. HTH's! ;)

Villa looks pretty nice- checked out owner's site too- only thing that would make me not rent it is the lack of privacy around pool- looks like no privacy fence and neighbours all around you-not a problem for many but for us we always have rented ones with private yards or fences. (and the game room is just a pool table?)

I made that comment to my boyfriend too ( about the pool and the gameroom) but for the price he gave me I guess we will have to deal with it. It is the cheapest out of all the ones I looked at.I am just hoping that it's not a case of to good to be true.

I found this one too.256608 Almost the same price. Now I'm not sure which one to choose.

I looked at both rental and they both have their pros and cons. If this is the first time you are staying off site, you might prefer the location of the one at Sunset Lakes better because it is closer to 192 which has a ton of shops, restaurants, and will be closer to a Super Target and a Publix... If you click on this link and then map 1
http://www.kissimmee-us192.com/map/ushwy192mapindex.htm
you will see what is around Sunset Lakes. You would also travel towards Map 2 a lot, so those two maps will help you see what is in the area.
We prefer Davenport but it is a lot quieter than Kissimmee. It helps that we know what is around because we stayed on 27 and know what is over that way if we want to go there and we have stayed off of 192 and know that if we zip over to Lake Wilson Road, we can get there, and then it is easy to get to a lot of things from I-4.

This Kissimmee house has a better game room but no spa. A spa is a deal breaker for us, so I would automatically choose the Davenport house. In the description, it did indicate that Sunset Lakes has a community pool too, so maybe there is a spa there???

If you plan on cooking a lot or have a lot of family dinners, I think the Kissimmee house might be better. Looking at the Davenport house, they have the small four person table in the kitchen and then the formal dining table in the dining area. The dining areas in these houses are usually kind of separate from the kitchen and not as homey. The Kissimmee house appears to have a larger dining table right in the kitchen area. I might be wrong though, it is hard to tell from the photo. I think a large dining table in the kitchen is nice when there are a lot of people.

Overall, I personally like the looks of the Davenport house, but they both look really nice and have good reviews. Have you checked the property tax records for both??? This is the site to search for the owners in the Davenport house http://www.polkpa.org/CamaDisplay.aspx
Here is the link for the Kissimmee house record check
http://ira.property-appraiser.org/PropertySearch/

It's always good to verify the owners and to make sure they don't owe thousands in back taxes...

We just returned from a trip to WDW and rented a house offsite for the first time. Boy was I :scared1:. It went great. We rented VRBO #256608. It had 4 bed, 3 bath, pool, gameroom and was at Sunset Lakes. We loved it and will go back. Kathy was very easy to work with.

Marking this! We are starting to plan and need all the help we can get!

OP I hope you find a great rental!

I just checked and she did email me back but her quote is $200 more than the other one.

She is usually very fast. That is one of the reasons I liked her.

A few other things we liked about the house was it was in a gated community and needed a pass code to get in. Also from 10pm-8am it was quiet time and the community was very quiet. We still swam late at night but we slept very well.
