Need help with hotwire,priceline,etc

Can anyone who has used places like Hotwire,Priceline,etc to book hotel rooms let me know what they do if you have to cancel.Need to know about getting a hotel near the hospital that my mother is having surgery at.Thanks

Once you have paid, that is pretty much it. That is one of the main reasons the rooms are cheaper.
