Hi everyone.
I need some ideas for extra money earning activities. My cadette troop wants to go to disney. Council sponsers a trip and it will probably cost 1000.00 for each person and that is flight and food and 5 nights and park tix. Cookies start tomorrow and then we are going to do a bake sale Easter Saturday. I would love any suggestions
Thanks
Cindy

Do you have a Sam's Club near you? Ours gives non-profits a chance to do a "burger burn" outside their store once a year (sign-ups begin in January). Our cub group has made a little more than $1000 each year they have done it (every penny counts!). The money raised is split between those who work.

I'm just finishing a candy bar sale with my son's engineering club. We earned a little more than $1,000 during the two weeks we sold. Each boy was responsible for selling a minimum of 2 boxes of 48 bars each. My DS sold 6 boxes and the two week deadline isn't even until Friday. They practically sold themselves and I probably could have sold another, but I'm all chocolated out!

What about coupons for a pizza or sub sale? Our local pizza shop gives us tickets for a large pizza (regular retail $11.99) for $5 each. We sell them for $10 each. We only pay for the tickets that get redeemed. The good deal with the tickets is, if someone buys the ticket and the coupon isn't redeemed within a certain time period we get to keep all of the profits ($10). We find a lot of people just consider it a donation and never redeem it. They sell like hotcakes! Do you have a shop nearby who would maybe be willing to partner with your group? Never huts to ask.

We are all about earning money and not having to deliver stuff! Hate taking orders and collecing money and then weeks later having to go back and deliver. Helps if its just a one time shot!

Good luck!

A lot of restaurants & stores near us will do a fundraising night where you split proceeds with them. I have seen signs everywhere from Burger King, Friendly's, Applebees to Five Below. I have no idea how much you'd make, but they always seem like a good idea to me.

Shoe recycling and e-waste drives

You need to find the local vendor in your area that does it, but both require you to publicize the drive and then you get paid per pound of e-waste/old shoes that get dropped off.

nothing to sell--just a little effort publicizing.

Around here we can bag groceries at the local supper market. On a good Sat or Sun you can make a lot of money. They bag groceries and have a can for donations at each check they bag at.
