need help with finding a recipe

I am trying to find a recipe for geneties (and I know that is not how to spell it ) I can't find a recipe because I don't know how to spell it! I type it into google and it asks me did I mean genetics??!!!!

Does anyone know the cookies I am trying to talk about? It is the ones with the licorice flavouring. If you have a recipe I would really appreciate it!

I do not know what kind of cookies you are talking about, but is it anise flavoring in the cookies. If it is anise flavoring you could do a search on anise cookies.

I wondered the same thing, Mamu. When I first read the post, I immediately thought of "Springerle". They are made with anise seed or oil & I always think of licorice when I eat them.

Mickey65 - I've never heard of anything that sounds like the name you used (no matter how I pronounce it ). The ones I'm talking about can be found at allrecipes.com. They are hard/crunchy. We always used a special rolling pin with "pictures" that you use - it creates squares with a raised design.

I also posted on the CB and someone there said they are called anise cookies...the recipe they posted sounds familiar to the one I remember using before!
