I have an excel file where when I open it you can't see the grid lines(its all white like a word document would be) or the row and column letters/numbers ( the A,B,C along the top and the 1,2,3 down the sides). I hope someone understands what I am talking about because I need to know how to fix these probelms.

Thanks
Heather

<font color=navy>Go to File, and choose "Page Setup" - the last tab says "sheet"

Go to the last tab and make sure that the box is checked for gridlines.

Click 'okay' and you should be good to go.

If I understand you correctly, you can still see the row and columns letters/numbers on the screen? In order to put the gridlines back in, just highlight the area that you need (the whole page if necessary), then go to your paint bucket and choose the "no fill" option (use the little pulldown arrow beside the bucket). If the bucket is not visible on your toolbar, go to FORMAT, CELLS, PATTERNS, choose NO COLOR.

Hope this helps. :D

I have done that and still no gridlines except when I print. I want to be able to see gridlines when I have the file open on my computer.

I believe Mary Jo's suggestion will only work if the problem is on the printed result.

Go to tools and click on it. You should see the word options, click on it. You should get a popup when you click on options. In this popup you should see seperate little folders to choose. Choose view. Make sure that the gridlines and column and row headers boxes are checked.

Sometimes I think if I live forever, I still won't know all the features/options of excel!!!
