Hello...we are going to IOA in June and would like to eat lunch at Emeril's. Realize that we need to make ressie's soon, but I need help with the phone number.

Thanks in advance:cool1: :cool1:

I hope you enjoy Emeril's but I'm a much bigger fan of Tchoup Chop.

Thanks so much for all your help and the websites. I personally would prefer some of the other restaurants there, but the rest of our group wants to eat there.

Personally, I think you'll owe your group a big "Thank You", after eating there. :teeth: You will soon find on this board that Emeril's/ Tchoup Chop is a love/ hate thing for many here. Most people have a clear favorite. Ours is Emeril's. We've eaten there many times, but never for lunch. We absolutely love it!!! We've eaten at Tchoup Chop twice, & we all rank those meals among the worst we've ever had in a so called "fine dining" establishment. On the plus side, if you don't like Emeril's, odds are you'll love Tchoup Chop. :p

Our experience was of course the reverse. We booked Emeril's as part of our 30th anniversary trip last year, noted on the reservation and at check in that we were celebrating a special event and would gladly wait for a 'nice' table. We were then seated by electrical conduit and told that nothing else was available. Did the wine pairings with our dinner and felt that there was never a great match - almost like they had prepared the wine pairings for a completely different menu. First 2 courses fell flat but things did turn around at the seafood course. Overall, our bill that night was $310 including the tip and I would have rated Emeril's at 7th out of the 14 dinners we had last year. Not what I would expect for the cost. Worse part of all, received no satisfaction either through the restaurant management or in a letter.

Emeril's is more expensive than Tchoup Chop. We've never tried the wine pairings. We just order wine of our choosing. We have 3 people (including a teenage boy) to feed, so a $300+ bill there is the norm. We always leave thinking it's money well spent. It's a bummer your experience wasn't as great, especially on a special occasion. :( On the other hand, we had a bill less than $150 the last time we ate at TC. (Mostly, because they were out of every wine we asked for, & a few other things.) Anyway, we felt totally ripped off! Our meal wasn't worth a third of that. I was really disappointed, because so many of you rave about it & we usually love all of Emeril's restaurants. I really wanted our 1st experience to have been a fluke, & us to love it that time. Sadly, we thought it was as bad, if not worse than before. The filet our son ordered was really good though. :thumbsup2 If we ever decide to give it another try, we'll all get that. I don't see that happening anytime soon though. Oh well, different strokes for different folks. BTW, just in case any of you are wondering, we don't make $300+ meals a habit. They're reserved for vacation. We're cheapskates at home. :rotfl:

I don't make a habit of dining out but after many years of travelling and in managing restaurants I know what I like and do have high expectations. That was part of a very special trip and we went all out with our choices and certain restaurants just did not deliver. We haven't been to Tchoup Chop for dinner but our lunch there in 2005 was excellent - from the moment we arrived in park attire to the moment we left. The dinner at Emeril's was for 2 so you can see we did have a few extras. The most disappointing part for me was the failure of management onsite and corporately to take responsibility and put it right. Three of the better meals that we had on the trip were at the resort we stayed at in Mexico. The food and service were extroadinary. No restaurant came close to our number 1 on that trip though - Victoria & Alberts. It seemed that every bite and sip was an explosion of flavour and freshness. It cost us $100 more than Emeril's, don't know if we'll ever repeat such a meal but thrilled that I got to experience it once.

Its been several years since we've been there but we've done Emeril's for both lunch and dinner. Lunch is definitely more casual and way less crowded. There was only a couple of other tables occupied at lunch. The menu is totally different for lunch (and a whole lot cheaper!). At least it was when we went. Difference in price was dinner for 2 with no wine was $135 w/tip (ribeye & chicken study, dessert). Lunch for 2 with no wine was around $45 (pasta and wood oven pizza). We enjoyed both meals that trip. Next trip (hopefully in October) we'll probably do lunch. We'll have our 3 year old with us and he'll be fine there at lunchtime. I wouldn't take him at dinner.

We really LOVE Emeril's!

I can totally understand your disappointment. That's a lot to pay for a meal & leave disappointed. We've never had a reason to deal with their management, but that would be extremely frustrating. I'm sorry they didn't step up to the plate & make it right. You'd think they'd realize it's better for business to do everything possible to make the customer happy.

I think you had our table. My wife and I go to Emerils 2 times each year. Once for our Anniversary and once for My birthday. The first 4 times, we were always seated by the electrical conduit on the patio room. After that whenever I call to make our reservation, I request it. Infact they have it logged and when I give them my telephone#, they know what table it is.

It isn't the best table in the place, by a conduit and by a door that opens to the main room, but for us, it holds special memories.

Great story! :)

Didn't hold great stories for us. This was not the atmosphere I was looking for when I requested a nice table in making the reservation and when we arrived. As I indicated in my letter to their corporate offices, I could not help but think that this was a $ grab to take advantage of the Emeril name.
