I could use some help picking a hotel near Disneyland. I want to be as close as possible, but I understand that many hotels in the area have only rooms with exterior doors and no interior hallways. I have a very active 2 year old and I don't want to be in a hotel where if she managed to get the door open she would be in a parking lot or outside upstairs where she could fall. Any suggestions on a good place to stay or places to keep away from?

I can't think of anywhere within walking distance that has the interior corridors, except the Disney properties. But others that come to mind that are nice are:

Embassy Suites South-reasonably priced, full breakfast served and it would be possible to walk if you really wanted to

Hilton Suites - can't walk but it is nice and you can use ART

Both of these have packages available on getawaytoday . com

HoJo has interior corridors and is within waking distance and is a Disboard favorite. :)

hojo or desert inn desert inn is right across the street from the cross walk i havent been yet but am in oct. hojos ive also heard alot about just to long of walk for me

oh ok i didnt even understand what that was ty for the info dm (for us we will just make sure the top lock is locked or something. maybe ill park my ecv in front the door lol dobut hed get out that way. i apoligize with that in mind id say hojos

Jade, please don't park your ECV in front of the door, just in case anything happens, like a fire, you want to be able to get out quickly. That would be a major fire hazard. :)

OP, the HoJo is the one with interior corridors, walking with my family of 4 it takes us about 10 min. to get to the parks. The Tropicana does have interior corridors if you stay on the (looking out towards the street from the pool area) right side on the second floor. You go up the stairs and down a hall to your room.

As close as possible + hotel (vs motor inn) would be the Disney properties or HoJo. :)

Thank you guys so much! I think we will try Hojo since everyone seems to like it. My daughter is fearless and an explorer. We do try to keep the top bolt on the hotel room doors locked, but my husband forgot for about 15 seconds last time we were at a hotel and I had to chase her down the hall. Also, if the bolt is low enough and she can figure out any way to get up to it and undo it, she will. She isn't that way at home, but she gets so excited at hotels in new places and doesn't want to stay in the room.

Ktlm, when are you going? Do you have your travel dates picked out yet? There's some really good deals at HoJos depending on your dates.
