It will be me, ds 5, and d sis. We are from a fairly small town in texas and our version of fine dinning is something like Chili's or Applebee's. :rotfl2: We don't like seafood or anything too fancy! Do you have any resturant reccomendations for us?

Will list places my kids liked DS 7 & DD4

Chef Mickey's & Crystal Palace these are Char Buffets

Whispering Canyon at WL, Rainforest Cafe at DTD or AK, kona at Poly

Most resort have a Causal dinning place those are great places to try & most place have chicken fingers for kids, even if it is not on the menu just ask.

Also check out the Menus at www.allearsnet.com

I really agree. Good bets are Whispering Canyon, Chef Mickey's, and Crystal Palace for both basic food the kids will like and Disney fun kind of atmosphere. We went to those three spots last time and are returning to them on this trip because we had a good time there before.

You sound just like my family. ;) We are from a small town in KY and Chilli's and Applebees are my favorites weekend places to dine out. At WDW, I did not care for Chef Mickey's or Crystal Palace. We found the food was just fancied up a bit too much for us. Definitely not a Golden Corral type buffet. However, we absolutely loved Whispering Canyon Cafe (the best!!! great food and great fun), Rainforest Cafe and also Planet Hollywood this trip. 50's Prime Time Cafe has some good menu choices as well as the Sci Fi Dine in although it seems that both get very mixed reviews here. You might check out the menus at allearsnet.com to get an idea of what each restaurant offers. Hope this helps!!

le cellier has wonderful steak and not that fancy. also concourse steak house is casual and great steak wonderful to watch the monorail go by as you eat.
chef mickeys aslo had good simple food as well as crystal palace and both have characters.

I ALWAYS recommend Chef Mickey's, simple foods, delish!!! Best counter service stop IMHO is Cosmic Rays @ the MK in Tomorrowland. Basic foods, burgers, chicken strips, fries, etc...simple, yet tasty!!

50s Prime Time - this is the best themed-dining experience at WDW
Whispering Canyon Cafe - this is a very close second

Our DN6 and DN1.5 didn't care too much for some of the fine dining restaurants, like Chefs de France and Brown Derby (which were excellent choices for us adults, though) we visited in January, but they loved Whispering Canyon Cafe, and also Garden Grill, and Liberty Tree Tavern, which are both character meals, with AYCE pre-plated food, and both were very yummy. Remarkably, the kids did enjoy Artist Point, the best restaurant at WDW bar none.

Liberty Tree Tavern,(mk)
Seasons,(epcot)
Rainforest Cafe',(ak)
Pecos Bill (mk)

Unfortunately, Rain Forest is not on the Dining Plan, but they get my vote.

Locations are: Animal Kingdom & Downtown Disney :woohoo:

Our DS6 and DS15 enjoyed the Ohana Best Friends Breakfast with Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch. If you have time for a breakfast, on or off the plan, we'd recommend it. It's all you can eat, but they bring the food to your table -- skillets filled with scrambled eggs, bacon, link sausage, potatoes and mickey waffles. Kids love it and characters spend a lot of time with you, at least they did on the day we went.

Also: Flame Tree BBQ (AK) and Pecos Bills (MK) for counter service; Hollywood and Vine and Crystal Palace, both buffets, had plenty both kids would eat and they both enjoyed Le Cellier (a really nice steakhouse, but not too ritzy for children). It was my DS15's favorite meal.

Have fun
Carmen
