Need help with Cocoa Beach hotel before cruise

I could use some advice on which Cocoa Beach hotel to stay at for a couple of days prior to our cruise. We want to be very near or on the beach, so the Radisson is not a good choice.

I have looked at the hotel listings on Dave's site and identified a few possibilities while trying to keep the cost down (Holiday Inn Express, Comfort Inn and Suites, Courtyard by Marriott, Hampton Inn, and Holiday Inn Oceanfront). However, I would also like to have the input of anyone who has stayed at any of the Cocoa Beach Hotels.

I would prefer a suite or at least a separate area for the kids, but would take a really nice standard room as well. Obviously, cleanliness is important and we would also like to have a pool. (Does anyone know if the Quality Suites has a pool? I did not list this hotel as a possibility because it seems it does not have a pool.)

Dave has indicated there may be a cleanliness problem at the Holiday Inn Oceanfront. Since they have kids suites and some other kids amenities, I am especially interested in any other input on the cleanliness of that hotel.

I would really appreciate any help you could provide since I have never been to Cocoa Beach before.

We stayed at the Radisson and drove around the area a bit before we went to the terminal. We stopped to see the beach and rode up the beach road. There were mostly homes and apartments, then we came upon a neat pinkish looking resort thing. The sign read Royal Mansions. I think the sign went with the nice looking buildings, but it could have been to a more condo looking thing next door. Anyway, we said...."wow that looks like a nice place to stay." I'd seen it mentioned here, but never got the impression in threads that it sounded as nice as it looked. It seems to be villas that you can rent. Would have seperate bedrooms, plus kitchens, etc. They probably have a website. It was a very convenient location to the pier and right at the beach.
