Need help with Chicago airport hotels

Family is flying out of Ohare next month.

They are taking the train in the day before.

What are the closest hotels to the airport?

The Hilton is actually connected to the airport. But there's others nearby - the Wyndham, Hyatt, Westin, Sofitel that would provide shuttle service. But the closest is obviously the Hilton.

A lot of hotels are on River Road, about 2 miles from airport (at most?). PLease note if you choose the Hyatt, there is a Hyatt O'Hare & a Hyatt Rosemont, both on River Road about 3/8 mile apart.

I ended up booking a room for them at the Hilton.

They just have to decide if they are going to drive and leave their car for 10 days or take the train and catch a cab from the station to the airport.

Any idea how much a cab should be from the Amtrak station to the airport?

They would be better off getting to the commuter train that runs out to the airport. A cab from Amtrak to O'Hare would probably be pretty stiff. I think the Red line goes to O'hare, but I'm not positive.

The Blue line goes right into the airport and goes into downtown. That would be the best bet as a cab ride would be pretty stiff.
