I need a wireless surveillance camera system with monitor. But I don't have a whole lot money .
The most I can afford would be $200 maybe $250.
I need it wireless because running a cable is difficult for me to do on my own.
I need a clear picture on the monitor day and night.
Recording or by Iphone is fine or can your home computer work with it??

I read somewhere that if you have your own router you can use that(I have know idea what there talking about).
Is Best Buy store, Harbor Freight, Sam's Club a good place to look or wireless surveillance camera system . Or can someone recommend a system and where to buy it.

Comcast wants too much to install and the monthly is high.
A system with no monthly payments to a company to use it.

Amazon is a good place to start. How many cameras do you need, and how far away will they be from the controller? Do you currently have a wireless connection?

Check out the Ring doorbell or other brands on Amazon. They are under $200 and may work for you. I do not have one, so can't help with a review.

We have ARLO and love it. I feel like Costco just had them on sale for a really good price. It sends me an alert when it detects motion and the picture is very clear.

Haven't had to change the batteries yet. Have had it since the beginning of October and they are still going strong.

ETA: Just checked the battery on the app and it is showing they are full.

I've read hundreds of reviews and still haven't found a replacement for my alarm system yet.

The biggest gripe seemed to be the video delay. As in yes the video was there but the perpetrators were either completely gone or the owner of the property could only see the back end of the person running off since it was motion sensor activated. I was/am looking for front and back deck and door cameras as well as cameras aimed at our vehicles and storage shed in the back of our property. One of the Ring or Arlo cameras would clean out your budget for wireless. I am almost at the point of paying the yearly fee for the Comcast surveillance. I think it is $20 a month or maybe $30. After checking out what I could buy and have installed, it may be worth it long term.

My home has the old time security system hard wired in but no video. Knock on wood I haven't had any problems except a minor theft and one car vandalism in 30 years as I seem to live in a pretty safe neighborhood. Good neighbors who watch out for one another. But - I'm getting older and anyone can become a victim. I'd like them to at least get caught!

Yes, that is a weakness for DLink cameras. Not so for Nest. Nest is continually streaming ALL video to the cloud. When something is tripped, it sends an alert to say at that moment of time something happened. Then you can rewind back seconds, minutes, or hours to see what is happening.

Because Nest is continually sending video the cloud, you may need a larger and faster internet package. Especially if you want it to be HD to see all the glorious detail.

Nest is not a wireless system as far as I can tell.

Correct.... It needs a power source. But uses your router wifi for a signal.
