Please help me figure out what to get to have the characters sign except for an autograph book.

I would like something unique and as well as something my girls are use.

I know you guys will have the answer for me. You are the greatest!!!!!!

Thanks,
Timswoman

I had them sign a t shirt. I used a princess one for the princess and found one with Mickey and his friends for another.

How about some framing mats that will go around a 5x7 picture? Then when you get home, you could frame pictures of your trip with them and scatter them around your home. Or hang them on the wall in your children's rooms.

If you get an autograph book, you could have each character sign only on the right side pages, then when you get home you can put pictures of your children with that character on the left, opposite the signature.

We just went to DW for our first time in Jan. 2005. My two girls and I made autograph books before we left. I cut colored cardstock to about 2.5x3.5 (really any size you want, I found I probably should have done it a little bigger) then cut two cover pieces just slightly bigger. I had the cover pieces lamenated after the girls put stickers and their names on the covers. Then I punched holes (time consuming!) along the one side, two holes one top one bottom of all and bought what I call "o-rings" at the office supply store to insert through all once the holes were puched.
We also bought the new Sharpie retractable markers for the characters to sign with and they worked great...no tops to worry about losing.
Anyway, the girls each picked a small photo album at DW and when we got home we unassembled the autograph books and were able to put their pictures on one page with the characters autograph next to it on the other page. They love their books and its fun to show to friends!

A couple of years ago our kids did the EPCOT craft stops and we had some characters sign the mask and the stick of the art project that they walked around the world doing. It was fun. And, you only had to carry one thing.

DH and I had Minnie Mouse autograph our WDW baseball hats. The very nice CM with her at the time even found a fabric pen for her to use so that her siggy won't wash out.

Several years ago we bought an autograph hound. Basically a Pluto with no fur that the characters could sign with a permanent marker. My dd loves it but we could not find one recently. I would suggest looking in the plush area of local stores if this idea appeals to you.

I got a great idea here on the boards. For our girls trip last year with my (then) 4 yo niece, we had a spiral bound index cardset. We had the characters sign on the blank side (not the lined side of the index card). We also took a picture with her and each character.

When we got home, I covered one of those small albums (a buck each at AC Mooore) with Ariel fabric. (a small album purchased at the parks would work just as well) On a blank index card I wrote Jillian's Autograph Book and she colored and decorated it. (She is quite the artist) :earsgirl:

That went on the first album page. On each subsequent page, the photo went on one page and the autograph on the facing page. so now we have all the great pictures and the characters autograph together. There is also room for other pictures of her with the family. She loves it and it was fun to put together with her.

I tried to find something unique for my kids too, but decided the autograph books at Disney are the best. For $6 it has a nice hard cover that can be wiped off, the characters are familiar with it, it has a place to write your name and address in it which the characters will sometimes look at to personally sign your book (e.g. "to suzie love cinderella").

I also wrote each child's name on the edges of the book (all 3 sides) so it was a lot easier to see whose was whose. Also used a rubber band to keep the signed pages "attached" to the front cover so all we had to do was open the book and the next available page was ready to go. Also used the rubber bans to keep the pen from getting lost.

At the princess breakfast, I asked them to sign a shirt from the Disney store and this last trip I got squares of disney princess fabric for them to sign with a Sharpie to make a quilt with. ( I got the fabric from wal-mart and from ebay).

I have also heard of them signing hats. They won't sign anything that you are wearing. They also have the new retractable sharpies which would be great for autographs! :lovestruc

I always make my kids autograph books. I buy a scrapbook (6x8) and decorate with papers, stickers and die cuts for each character. On the left page is a space for the picture they will have of the character, and on the right page is a space for the autograph. The characters always pretend to enjoy their page, and the kids enjoy that extra bit of attention. :)

My daughter did the autograph thing at DL last year in a spiral bound notecard book. When we got home, I scanned all the autographes in the computer and then got the special paper so I could put them on her favorite disney shirt. She loves it! I still have all the autographs saved so I can make a new shirt when she outgrows the first one.

sorry...hit the send button too quickly.

The other thing I did was to enlarge the autograph and use it as the center of my scrapbooking page for that character.

My next trip I'm doing a scrapbook. I've seen them done and they are too cute. 7x7 (I think) scrapbook works best. On a 2 page spread, Have the character sign one page and put the picture right next to it. You can also use stickers and colored paper to jazz it up a bit. You can pick them up pretty cheap at your local craft store. Even if your not an avid scrapbooker you'll still have a fun doing it.

For my Grandson's 1st trip this June I am thinking about taking some of the heavy board books that he enjoys having read to him and having them signed by the characters in the story. My only concern is most of them have very smooth pages and I'll need to find a large non-smearing pen.
