Need help with altering ressie

Right now we have three rooms booked at POR for two nights. We need to drop down to two rooms at POR for two nights. I've read different posts about people losing their ressies altogether after they've made changes.

What do I need to make sure I do to ensure that that doesn't happen? I've already paid the 1/2 deposit on the three rooms. Will they cancel and rebook and thus refund my deposit and make me pay again? Or will they just apply the rest of what I paid to the balance on two rooms? Am I making any sense?

Any tips would be appreciated!

That depends on:

1. If you have the same reservation number for all 3 rooms, they will probably have to rebook, refund your deposit and charge the new deposit. This is what happened to me recently.

2. How good the CM is that you get. I really think they can do a lot more than some of them know how to do. If you get a CM that knows the reservation system well, they should be able to do it without changing your reservation number or your deposit. I did this in March. I went through 3 CM's before I finally got one who could do what I asked. However, I only went from 2 rooms to one room so there could be a difference there, I don't know.
