My ds is in Kindergarten and has been invited to 5 parties in the next 3 weeks! YIKES! One said no gifts so we just did s nice sparkly princess card. I have 3 girls to buy for and no idea what is hip with girls in Kindergarten! I don't want to look cheap, but I can really only afford to spend $10 a child since I have 4 total kids to buy for during holiday season!

Any ideas?

My DD's are older, but I would suggest Webkinz I think limited too and justice stores are having them B1G1 free right now. Maybe go to a dollar store and buy a small purse that the webkinz would fit in and put it in there and you would have a nice gift for less than $10.

Were you planning on braving the crowds on Black Friday? I think I saw that Walmart is going to have High School Musical dolls for $5, I think a lot of girls that age would probably like those...

Oh I forgot, Walgreens is going to have the Lil Kinz (Webkinz) on sale B1G1, so you could pick up 4 of those for about $15 total. I think they are really cute.

Not sure if this is something worth looking into but I was in the same boat this year.
I started making adorable hair clip/barrette organizers that are great for a little girls room.
They are selling at a local children's boutique in our area for over $20.00 and I am now making them and selling for $10.00.
If you'd like more information, PM me.

My younger DD is in first grade. $10 is very acceptable for a birthday present. If you get webkins, Walgreens has buy 1 get 2 free on Black Friday.
I like to buy books as gifts as well as fun jewelry. If you have a Claires around, they often have sales on bracelets, necklaces and hair stuff that little girls love.
Some suggestions for books would be the Curious George Christmas or other book that Kohls has for $5 right now. It's hard back and really nice. Also, both of my girls like Junie B Jones and Magic Tree House. You can get either book in paper back. They each have a bunch in their series and are nice read aloud chapter books that the children will be able to read by themselves later on.
We go to lots of parties too, so when I see an item on clearance, I pick it up. That way we can give more and still stay around the $10 amount. But most times, both of my girls go, so then I try to give two gifts...

What about art supplies? Often needed and loved. A new bag of nice markers and a package of construction paper plus a coloring book from the Dollar store. I think it's a great gift that parent and child will love, inexpensive AND very practical and imagination-stimulating.

You could even do something like buy in bulk for the 4 gifts - go to BJ's or similar and there is a HUGE pack of contstruction paper for 8.99 I believe. And you could get a large package of markers with like 100 markers in it. Just go to dollar store and buy a container (I like buying letter stickers and putting the child's name on their 'art container') - divide up the paper and markers among the containers. This way I bet you will save enough that you can even get some packs of crayons, some stencils, stickers or some stamps too that you could divide up among them and still keep each gift to $10.

Check out the thread here on the Budget Board about getting crafty overnight. The poster made (using supplies from craft store) barrett and hair clip hangers. She posted a pic and they are very cute. Just make one of these and buy some barretts and clips to put on them as part of the gift!

My DD is in Kindergarten and has had her own and several other girl parties. I was the bargain shopper and bought a bunch of Bratz dolls last year at Target when they had their 75% off toys deal. So, I spent $5 on each doll which came with some sort of microphone OR some sort of online computer plug in.

DD is into everything from Hannah Montana, HSM, Ponies, Barbies, Pet Shop so you can't go wrong. Target has $5 Beach Barbie & Ken dolls so you can grab 2 of those. Target also has a lot of Princess / Fairy dolls that are under $10.

My kindergartener daughter loves Littlest Pet Shop, Barbies, Ponyville and My Little Pony toys. She loves books too-- the two serious the PP mentioned are her faves.

At Target, you can find My Little Pony or Littlest Pet Shop puzzles for $4 and then get one of the MLP or LPS toys for another $5-6 (you can buy a single pony or pet). You can also find a first-reader type of Littlest Pet Shop book and pair that with a toy.

My daughter would be thrilled to get a gift like that. It'll keep you in the $10 price range.

Oh, she really likes Fancy Nancy now and Target has some toys-- I didn't price them out though. The books are still over $10, although there are a couple of $4 first reader books available.

Although my daughter likes her Webkinz, she doesn't really play with them. They're just another stuffed animal to her, so not worth the extra money, IMHO.

Go to Limited Too or Justice and if you can get a coupon you can get some really good deals. Even if you don't have a coupon sometimes if you ask they will give you one. I forgot mine at home and they had a 30% off coupon thy gave me.

Do you have a $5 and under store near you? Like an upscale dollar store:rotfl2: But I saw Betty Spaghetti dolls there - and a bunch of games.

But I have to say the girls at my son's party loved the littlest petshop pet I gave them as a goodie. So I'm guessing Littlest pet shop is still big with that age.

And crafty things are always a hit! My daughter could never have enough crayons markers or paper.

Crafts!!!

A dry erase board & markers. DD got this and loved it. She plays school
Paper dolls and assorted paper to make clothes - Project Runway at Michaels

Michael has a great crafty aisle. You can get a rubber bin for $1-2 and fill it with different items.....crayons, foam kits, glittler paper, etc. The have tons of Disney girl stuff too for $1.

Littlest Pet Shop (pet pairs are $5.67 each at my Target). Rescue Pets are under $10 each at Target as are the Littlest Pet Shop VIP's (both of these are stuffed animals that come with a code to play as their pet online). My 5 year old DD and my 5 year old niece (and my DD9!!!) loooooooooooooooooove all of these things!!!! Hope that helps!!

And PS-We never spend more than $10 on kids presents from school unless we KNOW them from outside of school as well. :-D

We always do books for gifts. (My daughter is 6) We have a birthday to go to December 7. And we are planning on books for the little girl (You can get 2 easy readers for $5 at Walmart) And a Diary with some fun pens.
