Family of 4 going to Disney for the 1st time mid September to celebrate my B/G twins 4th B'day. Staying at GF, not free dining but dining plan. No park hopper, planning on MK on 14th/15th/18th, MGM on 16th... 17th AK or? Not planning on doing epcot...

Here's what we have so far:

Arrival Day - dinner GF Cafe 7:45 or 5pm OHAna.. which one (really want Liberty tree or concourse I think?)

15th - B'day.. 8:15 Crystal Palace
11:30 Bibbid Bobbiddi do
Lunch Counter Service at GF then Nap
6:45 CRT

16th 11:30 Ohana Breakfeast

17th Chef Mickey lunch at 12:30 or Breakfeast at 7:45 (early for us?)

18th 12:15 Liberty Tree lunch
5:45 Narcossee

19th 8:25 GFBreakfeast then to airport...

Ok... My problems questions in addition to the comments above.

1. No dinner on the 16th or 17th need suggestions
2. Would like to do Tea at GF but when?
3. No clue on Counter service.. and too many Table services, how do I minimize some costs so I don't need another mortgage!
4. Want to do special cake from GF but when and where (room?).. Can you do it for the beach after Narcossees to see the fireworks?

Please any and all suggestions opinions are needed and very much appreciated. I am having a difficult timing tryign to put an itinary together and I really want this to be special.

Thanks so much...

If you are doing MGM on the 16th, then you may want to do a fantasmic package for dinner. With kids your age I would recommend the Hollywood & Vine buffet. It has lots of kid friendly items and great desserts as well as entrees the adults will enjoy and is the least expensive of the package options. They then give you a ticket for reserved section to view fantasmic, which means you don't have to stand in line for over an hour to get a seat. For counter service , I recommend Backlot express at MGM or Pizza Planet (on DDP , you can get a personal pizza, side salad, drink and a cookie). At MK counter service my favorite is Pecos Bill's because of the great fixin's bars for burgers or Cosmic Rays for chicken. You won't have any trouble finding things to eat. You can use those snack credits for anything from a box of donuts at the hotel gift shop to a big ice cream sundae at MK. Also remember to get the birthday buttons at each park for your twins to wear and let everyone know where you eat that it is their birthday and they will usually get a special cupcake, card or treat. Have fun!

Thanks! Unfortunately the package was all booked for the 16th, but I made a rees for H & V anyway for that night... At least I now have something for dinner then.

Anyone else have any thougths or suggestions?

Thanks

If you are still considering AK for the 17th, I would try to get breakfast at Donald's Restaurantosaurus. AK closes early compared to the other parks so I wouldn't leave for lunch then plan to return. I've never been to Rainforest Cafe there, (mainly because we have one 5 miles from our house) but our kids like it. They have one at AK - I'm not sure if it's on the DDP or not? Trying to get Chef Mickey's for dinner could be another option, too.
