Need help with a time capsule!

This got dumped in my lap yesterday at school. we have a building rededication scheduled for this Saturday to celebrate the completion of a 2 year construction project. Each grade had the option of contributing something to the time capsule. I put together a book with both kindergarten classes-each child drew a picture of what they thought they would be doing in 50 years (some of the responses were great ) We have some things regarding September 11th, a contribution from another grade, and that's it No one else contributed anything I'm planning on adding a local newspaper from that day, as well as the school newsletter from next week. I think I will also try to go around with a digital camera and do a " Day in the life of " for our school. Any other ideas? No monies are available 9unless they come out of my own pocket )

Do you have a visitor's center in your town? or a place you can get information on your town? If so ask for any brochures they have of town happenings right now and add that to your capsule. We did that when we made one years back.

When you put the newspaper in, make sure to include the ads. Its kinda fun to see what the price of ordnary things were and also see what the fads were as well.

Are there any extra copies of the School yearbook that you could include?? Maybe a school t-shirt, too.

How about asking older kids to write their own day in a life story. Just 1 page about what their average day is like. This is what we did for our capsule.

Do a survey with the children about their favorites (TV shows, music, games).
