we booked olivias for our day of arrival but would kind of like to start off with a character meal or something a little more themed than olivias. What is the closest place to Old Key west since that is where we are staying

also booked chefs de france. will the kids stilll like this if ratatouille is not there how often does he come out and around what time? would i be better off picking somewhere else?

Remy is at Les Chefs:
Inside Les Chefs de France.
Monday-Saturday at 12:30, 1:40, 2:50 & 5:20pm He is not there on Sundays at all, and once he goes thru the diningroom on his cart he leaves. It is not like a regular character meal. That said we missed Remy because we got seated late for our adr, and our 5 yr old still enjoyed her meal

If you have a car, the closest character meal to Old Key West is probably Cape May at the Beach Club (characters at breakfast only). You don't say what meal you are looking for but on an arrival day it's probably dinner. The closest character dinner is probably Garden Grill at Epcot. If you do not have a car, it is also easier to go to a park, as there is no direct transportation between Old Key West and any other resort.

We will have a car. It will be for dinner and we will not be arriving until 6 pm and thinking of a late dinner. Should we just stick with Olivias since it is right there?
Thanks for info on chefs.

If you have a car, you may be able to get to any resort easily. The following resorts have character dinners:

Grand Floridian (Cinderella's Gala Feast)
Chef Mickey's

Inside parks:
Akershus (Epcot)
Garden Grill (Epcot)
Cinderella's Royal Table (MK)
Crystal Palace (MK)

As you can see, there are not a lot of character dinners. I don't recommend CRT for an arrival day as it is prepaid; Akershus requires a credit card hold. Travel delays could result in being charged without actually getting a meal. If you don't have annual passes, you might also not want to spend a park ticket just to go in for a late meal.
